Snacks in Klang

Hungry after having lunch or dinner? Maybe you may want to try some of my recommendation below:

Big Apple Donuts

Taste: 8/10 (good)
Price: 6-7/10 (moderate - depends on how may you order. The more you order the cheaper per donut).

Today I brought three donuts from Big Apple to try it as my colleague recommend me to try it. Big Apple do offer a variety of flavours and durian flavour did catch my attention. However, I am unable to buy it because it only last for around one hour. I am too full to finish it on the spot after just having my dinner. So, I just bought blue berry, almond chips & peanut flavour. The price for each donut is RM2 and if you order half dozen, it only cost RM9.60. As I mentioned earlier, the more you buy, the cheaper it gets.

Three a in box

Opened the box. Oops, its donuts in half. Forget to snap the picture before I taste it.

Rojak Klang Gani

Taste: 8/10 (good)
Price: 8/10 (cheap)

I heard this rojak stall which is situated at emporium makan klang just in front of Shaw Centrepoint Klang, is quite good. This stall business is quite good as many are waiting for their order. This rojak consist of fried kuih, squid, egg, tofu, cucumber, potato & gravy(peanut sauce). The good thing about this rojak is the kuih & the peanut gravy are served hot. Not like other rojak stall that serve cold & soft kuih. Each plate cost RM3. This stall open at 4.30pm till 10.30pm & close on sunday.

Try Ice Cream

Tried Baskin Robbin in its Bukit Tinggi Klang outlet. This is my rating.

Baskin Robbin
Taste: 8/10 (Good)
Price: 4/10 (Near expensive)

If compare this with Haagen Dazs, I would say each have its own distintive taste. However it still tastes good. BR have more toppings & more creative. The price for BR is slightly lower than Haagen Dazs.

Lunch at Bukit Tinggi 2 Klang

This weekend I have planned to have lunch at Bukit Tinggi 2. I don't know what to eat at the first place. But after searching around for 10 minutes, I decided to try the new AT Seafood bak kut teh. I saw a lot of new restaurant over this area but most of them only open at night. Other which have their business during day, don't have many customer in. So, I may try them later. This outlet is quite near the AEON Bukit Tinggi Klang. For those who is not familiar, Bukit Tinggi Klang is divided into three phase. One, two and three.

AT Seafood bak kut teh
Taste: 6/10 (moderate-not manage get good marks due to soup)
Price: 6/10 (moderate)

This restaurant environment is a combination of tradisional & modern design. Nice.
The taste of the BKT is so so as I think it is not suitable for them to add rice wine & ginger to the BKT. This is the first time that I taste BKT with rice wine. The meat is tender & juicy. For me it's weird. However you may have your own opinion after you try it.
I have ordered bak kut teh with fish meat.
Yaw mak choi
Nice teapot & tea cup. I love it since the cup size is suitable not too small as in the tradisional form. The tea colour is just fine & not too dark.
Menu & its price. They offered abalone as one of its menu.
More menu & price.

Brazil nuts finally

After searching for a long time. Finally I found this Brazil nuts on sale in AEON Jusco Bukit Tinggi Klang. Previously, I heard that Malaysian government banned this nut & other nuts from South America region from selling in Malaysia due to the existance of rubber tree disease in Brazil. They afraid that this disease might affect this country rubber industry should the disease spread here. Those out there who have this kind of info may share with me. I love nuts but I am not nuts. Hehe...

From Old To New

After months of hardwork, testing, development & debugging, we finally able to soft launch the new corporate web site together with online booking engine to the public. As the key technical person to provide vendor with all the neccessary information, the new look of the website may catch the attention of the public and to provide customers with another channel to buy cruise. Before this, customers will have to go thru travel agents or local offices to purchase cruise. In this phase however, there are still a lot to be done in order to provide better service to the public. Eg: passenger can't make any amendment once booking committed. Any amendment, passenger will have to go thru our call center. This system will be enhanced in the second phase which scheduled to be completed around April this year. After 15 years in service, I think it is quite late to have the public online booking. Anyway, better than never. Gambateh.

Making mee hoon kuih

Quite sometime that I didn't prepare mee hoon kuih for my family. Today I am going to make it. My mum prepare the base soup & I prepare the mee hoon kuih. To prepare good mee hoon kuih, we must mix water, salt & flour at once at the right amount. Adding flour or water after that will make it less tasty. Energy is also important in order to make a smooth dough.
Make this dough from flour. This is how mee hoon kuih look like before press into pieces.

The Summit USJ

Its weekend again. I went to Summit to look for something bargain.

Black Canyon coffee
Taste: 6/10 (Moderate)
Price: 4/10 (Near expensive)

This time me & my friend choose black canyon coffee as dinner place. This outlet is their first outlet in Malaysia. Don't be deceived from it name. This eating place not only sells various types of coffee but it also famous for its thai food. I tried the thai style noodle. In my opinion, I think that the noodle is quite nice except for its prawn. The prawn is just too hard because they fried it for too long. So, it caused the prawn to lost its taste.
Blue berry yoghurt
Thai style rice with tom yam soup. The soup taste good.
Thai style noodle. The prawn is hard.
Offer many types of steak

KLCC Trip

This weekend I have planned to bring my mom for walk in Petaling Street & KLCC. We decided to take public transport to there. It was amazing as our trip to KL is quite smooth on that day. What I can say, we don’t even need to wait at all. A mini bus arrived as soon as we reached the bus stop near my house. As soon we reached to Klang, as usual we no need to wait for bus there. But its quite amazing, not many people taking bus to KL on that day. The whole travel time to KL only takes 40 minutes. Maybe everyone has just celebrated new year & not many shopping malls having sale now thereby not many people feel going out this weekend.

As soon we reached, KL we brought some dried seafood stuff near central market. This is my usual practice if I went to KL with my mom.

Before went to KLCC, we went to try the Petaling street chee cheong fun (flat rice noodle). I can’t find this kind of chee cheong fun elsewhere. Chee cheong fun here is very simple & tasty. It just comes with taucu sauce without the yong tauhu stuff with is a norm. The chee cheong fun smells & taste nice with spring onion & roasted sesame. It only cost RM3 per plate. The stall is located just in front of Hong Leong bank.

Jalan Hang Lekir Chee Cheong Fun:Taste: 8/10 (good)
Price: 8/10 (budget)

For lunch we went for little penang cafe. The food selection is quite nice but its quite spicy for me. The food pricing is value for money when comparing to the other restaurant on the same level of KLCC. The set lunch only cost around RM13.50. We can choose three menu for the set lunch. Eg: lobak, pucuk paku, sour fish, sambal petai & soy sauce chicken.

Little Penang Cafe:
Taste: 7/10 (Near good)
Price: 5/10 (On par)

Before we left KLCC, we have a try on burger king Whooper. I just wanted to know that day what is so special about their Whooper other that it is a broiled flame burger. The taste almost like barbeque meat. But I think it doesn't up to my expectation.
Burger King:Taste: 5/10 (Moderate)
Price: 5/10 (On par)

Gathering at Mid Valley

Its new year today. So I planned to meet up & catch up with each other. Among invited include hostel mates, room mate & course mate. All mates!!!

After walking & chatting for quite a while, we went to try ice cream at Haagen Dazs. This ice cream outlet is indeed have a wide selection of ice cream. There are around 20-25 varieties to choose from & to mixed together. They also offered two alcoholic flavours: rum raisin & tiramisu. We all ordered the two scoops & two toppings each. I judge this dessert as expensive as inclusive of tax, it cost RM23. However, the taste is good & still fullfil the what you pay is what you get concept.

Haagen Dazs
Taste: 8/10 (Good)
Price: 3/10 (Expensive)

After having a nice ice-cream, we have a walk in The Gardens. The Gradens houses many international fashion brands & is designed for high-end shoppers. The decoration is quite different from other shopping malls. In the photo below, they use the stars & projector concept. Currently they project the Gardens on the screen. I think they will use this for advertisement in the future.
