Malaysia is making history

The big opposition win in 2008 general election is expected. BN gets the biggest win & suffers the biggest loser under the Pak Lah leadership. High majority in parliment for BN during the 2004 general election comes with a big hope from voters. If the voters don't get what is promised, then the voters will not vote for the ruling party anymore this time.

With a few pressing issues that hunt the voters during this few years has lead the ruling party (Barisan National) to suffer biggest defeat in the history. Barisan National (BN) has lost five states namely Selangor, Kelantan, Penang, Kedah & Perak. The opposition also success in denying the BN two-third majority in the Parliment.

I think this is a good change as there should be a check & balance in the parliment. Some analysis said that only chinese were unhappy with the present government but I think that malaysian were unhappy with the ruling government. This can be seen for the lost of several high profile minister like Datuk Seri Sharizat Abdul Jalil in Lembah Pantai & Datuk Samsuddin in Shah Alam. The increase in goods price not only affected the chinese, other races will face it too. I think this time voters not vote in favour of opposition parties but more to simply not vote for BN.

Issues which lead to opposition big win includes:
1. Hindraf issues - Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu lost in Sg. Siput. He have become minister for 30 years, let younger generation to lead MIC. He should step down with pride earlier not step down after losing in election. There are still many hardcore poor indians under his leadership. Nearly all MIC candidate lost. Haha... before election they can proudly say Hindraf issue don't affect the election result much. Wake up, you sleep & have comfort zone for too long already!
2. Corruption issues - appointment of judges. Loh Gwo-Burne the person who record the Lingam video won the Kelana Jaya seat.
3. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim factor which able to swing some chinese & malay votes.
4. Higher crime rate. Everyone also scared if crime rate is high. BN government promise to build more police station & recruit more police but how about transpirancy & corruption in police?
5. The extension of the New Economic Policy(NEP) which makes non-bumi unhappy. I think 30 years is enough (1970-2000). I think NEP is more on enriching the rich malays(UNMO) rather than helping the hardcore poor malays.
6. Negarakuku video which criticise the government - kopi-o, corruption in getting licence, no place for non-bumi bright students. But I not agree about criticising our malay friends part.
7. BN government keeps giving excuse on several issues.
8. Price increase on several essential goods - flour, petrol, chicken & etc. People who go to market every weekend like me will feel it.
9. BN campaign is more on main stream media. Nowadays, younger generation not really bother watch much TV & read newspapers. Opposition distribute leaflet which have much information.
10. Poor road condition. I can see this in Klang. They only fill the pot holes and not retaring the whole road. Wonders where is all the money for road had gone? More pot holes = benefit proton = buy more spare parts?
11. Hidden account on GLC especially Petronas. Do you know that Petronas annual account is not open for public? Government can simply use the Petronas profit without public knowledge.
12. Toll issue.
13. BN parliment member insulting women with the 'bocor' word.
14. Donno about that Malays also want to have a change. These can be seen in BN 'safe' state - Selangor & Kedah.
15. For 50 years people have votes for greater representative of race in BN but not much have been achieve. So, people now vote for greater voice in parliment to see what will happen.
16. News show a photo of DAP leader Lim Kit Siang hand shake with PAS leader Abdul Hadi Awang. I donno what issue the news trying to bring up. Chinese & Malay cannot shake hand & become close friend meh? BN also bring in race based politics.
17. No punishment for Zakaria for building a large mansion (build illegally) surrounded by poor malay housing area. Now the voters have punish Zakaria daughter in-law by voting Keadilan candidate! No Zakaria but replaced by daughter in-law, what's a non-sense. At least they put someone who is unrelated which might have better chance of winning.

With these issues it will surely affect Malaysian to vote for change.

Nice things to watch in next parliment term:
1. Jeff Ooi the famous blogger is now a member of parliment.
2. Dr.P.Ramasamy ex-UKM famous political science lecturer is now in parliment.
3. Lim Kit Siang & Karpal Singh is still there.

On the state site (DUN) I wonders who will become the next mentri besar for Selangor, Perak & Kedah. My place Kota Alam Shah seat is held by an ISA detainee, M.Monoharan.

Finally, kudos to the opposition and try to work hard as voters already given you a chance. Prove it and they will reward you in the future!
