Q-Thai @ Kompleks Antarabangsa, KL

This restaurant is located in Kompleks Antarabangsa which is just a foot away from Raja Chulan monorail station. From the main lobby, you walk straight until the end and you will notice this Thai restaurant. Business is good especially during lunch time on weekdays.

Taste:6/10(Moderate. We ordered set lunch and it comes with one main course and either tom yam soup or ice lemon tea. I am dissapointed with their tom yam soup. All of us complaint that it is too salty. Maybe they cook it using sea water. Overall, their food is just ok. I think the only outstanding menu would be the green curry chicken. Others is just normal. I am not happy with the service here as we all have to wait for almost 1 hour to get our food. I know it is crowded but 1 hour is just too outrageous).
Price:6/10(Moderate. The set lunch cost me RM10.20).

Pineapple fried rice. The fried rice is not standarize. Sometimes they put it in pineapple but sometimes they put it on plate.

Thai style fish head bee hoon soup.

Green curry chicken with mango salad rice.

Green curry bee hoon soup. Wah, so many "chili padi". Make sure you are able to sustain the spicyness...

Mixed vegetarian bee hoon soup. Full of colourful vegetables.

The Dark Night

Oops... I think it is a bit too late for me to review this film. Its hard to get good seat for this movie though. However, this is a good movie and worth to watch. The Joker character is outstanding and might probably win the greatest villain. You will like this movie if you like "The Silence of The Lamb". Good dialog accompany with good facial expression, makes The Joker a great villain.

With just one year having passed after taking out Ra's Al Ghul's plan to have Gotham eliminated and the mysterious disappearance of Dr. Jonathan Crane AKA the Scarecrow, and after the city was nearly plundered with his toxins, Bruce Wayne and his vigilante alter-ego the Batman, continue the seemingly endless effort to bring order to Gotham, with the help of Lt. James Gordon and newly appointed District Attorney Harvey Dent. But a new threat has now emerged into the streets. The Dark Knight faces a rising psychopathic criminal called The Joker, whose eerie grin, laughter, and inhuman morality makes him as dangerous than what he has yet to unleash. It becomes an agenda to Batman to stop the mysterious Joker at all costs, knowing that both of them are in an opposite line. One has no method at all and seeks to see the world plunge into the fire he has yet to light. One represents the symbol of hope and uses his own shadow to bring the peace and order he has yet to accomplish doing. Review from www.imdb.com

My Rating:9/10(You will feel suspense from second half of the movie for every minute you watch this movie. The Joker has many weird ideas of doing sinister. Exploding a hospital, poisoning a commisioner, kills judge's wife and telling great story about his life before killing his rival. Go to watch it in cinema while you still have chance!)

Canton-i @ 1-Utama, Bandar Utama Petaling Jaya

Canton-i serves contonese style food. It is a subsidiary of Dragon-i chain restaurant. Currently, there is only one Canton-i restaurant. It is in 1-Utama shopping mall. In my opinion, Canton-i serves better food when compared to Dragon-i. Hopefully, Canton-i food standard won't drop when they open more outlets in the future(opening soon in The Gardens Midvalley). They are famous for they roast pork and wanton mee. Their roast chicken and roast pork is good. The meat is juicy and tender. Their fish congee, fried carrot cake and beef siew mai are also delicious. What's more exciting is that you can request to sit near the open kitchen so that you can see how your mee are made/prepared while you eating.

Taste:8/10(Delicious. Everything we ordered seems good except the small pau which is still not up to my standard).
Price:3/10(Expensive. Most of the dishes are priced between RM10-RM20. Ordering one main dish, appetizer and drink can cost around RM30 per pax).

Canton-i open kitchen.

Reception area. The restaurant is quite small though and cramped.

Roast pork(char siew).

p/s: Wow! I saw Daniel Lee of Malaysian Idol dine here with a girl. I didn't spot it at first, but my mom recognize the face and told me.

Ichiban Boshi @ Pavilion,KL

Ichiban Boshi is located in the Food Republic in Pavilion,KL. The business in this Japanese restaurant is quite good as you have to make reservation if want to have lunch here. The interior design makes you feel like you are in a Japanese restaurant not like Sushi King. What's more is their sushi tastes better compared to other Japanese restaurant (Sushi King & Shogun). Another difference you will notice is that their food portion is large. Eating one ala carte dishes and you won't be able to stuff anything else into your tummy.

Taste:8/10(Good. Delicious sushi, tempura & good miso soup. The beef rice that I ordered is a bit dissapointing as the beef have hard tendon. Their tempura is crunchy and the prawn is fresh).
Price:3/10(Expensive. The price is around RM35 per pax but you will get your tummy full. The portion is quite big though and I think it is cheaper when compared to Sushi King).

This is how the restaurant look like.

Nice interior arrangement. Donno what is the large baskets for.

Green tea.

Nagasari Curry House @ Jalan Nagasari, KL

Nagasari Curry house which is located behind Hotel Istana in Bukit Bintang area is famous for its Indian dishes. I like their vegetables as it is just nice and not very spicy. I went there with my colleagues and some of them never tried banana leaf rice before. And their response? Weird... Maybe they are not familiar with the style such as fried bitter gourd, assam curry & soup with spices mixture. But their weird stuff seems delicious to eat. In the end, we all satisfied with what we get.

Taste:8/10(Good.Their vegetarian banana leaf rice is nice)
Price:7/10(Cheap - RM5. The banana leaf rice is bottomless. That's mean you can add more rice without additional charge.)

Spicy Pan Mee @ Restaurant Kin Kin, KL.

I took monorail from my office (Raja Chulan station) to meet my uni coursemate Andy in Medan Tunku station (near Chow Kit area). He took me to this restaurant to try out their famous spicy pan mee. At first glance, the restaurant does funny to me. It means fast fast in hokkien.

Taste: 8/10(Good. The pan mee is normal but what make it different from others is the spicy dried chili and the egg. It comes with a small of soup if you order the dry pan mee).
Price: 6/10(Moderate. Normal bowl of pan mee with egg will cost you RM5).

Beijing Olympic Men's 100m

I like to watch the men's 100m as this event gives the fastest result. Imagine, an athlete can get a Olympic gold medal in less than 10 seconds. Imagine, if Malaysia able to produce athlete in this event, he will have a chance to get the RM1 million in less than 10 seconds.

Usain Bolt who broke the world record for men's 100m (9.69 seconds) in Beijing Olympic.

Duck Rice @ Kedai Kopi Nanking, Taipan USJ Subang Jaya

Finding this place is a challenge for me as I was not familiar with Taipan area. The place is crowded with commercial office and shop lots. This stall was quite crowded when I arrived as many office workers were queuing to buy their chicken/duck rice. This food court is located at 36, Jalan USJ 10/1, Taipan, Subang Jaya.

Taste:8/10(Their duck meat is soft and tender but lack the crispness. Their sour soup cooked from leftover meat and bones, dried chilies and mustard green is nice but a bit spicy.)
Price:8/10(The price is considered cheap as the portion is large. Two small plates of duck meat with base soup plus the sour soup is priced at RM14. The rice portion is large and no need to add rice).

Duck and spicy sour soup. Picture from The Star Malaysian Street Food Guide.

Gion Bread

Gion bread from Jusco Midvalley. I believe someone who have tested this bread before from the sample counter outside Jusco midvalley (La Bahome) but shocked when they announced the price. From the look, the bread looks like normal bread. The bread is very tasty and full of butter flavour. Once you taste it you would think that this is the best bread you ever tasted. But according to an article in the Internet, the bread is made from high quality vegetable oil without any butter. The whole loaf of bread is slightly larger than the Gardenia jumbo pack and it is heavy.

Taste:10/10(Excellent. The bread is very tasty and full of butter taste. Not too salty nor too sweet, just nice and soft. It taste even better if you put inside oven to reheat it).
Price:3/10(Expensive. This bread is priced at RM25 for the whole loaf and RM12.50 for half loaf. Perviously, it is priced at RM18).

Half loaf of Gion bread.

This is how the Gion bread look like.

p/s: Please find out whether Carrefour Midvalley is actually selling the original Gion bread at RM18. The Jusco version is the imitation. I will check it out when I go to Midvalley again.

WALL-E

The story: In a distant, but not so unrealistic future, where mankind has abandoned earth because it has become covered with trash from products sold by the powerful multi-national Buy N Large corporation, WALL-E, a garbage collecting robot has been left to clean up the mess. Mesmerized with trinkets of earth's history and show tunes, WALL-E is alone on Earth except for a sprightly pet cockroach. One day, Eve, a sleek (and dangerous) reconnaissance robot, is sent to earth to find proof that life is once again sustainable. WALL-E falls in love with Eve. WALL-E rescues Eve from a dust storm and shows her a living plant he found amongst the rubble. Consistent with her "directive" Eve takes the plant and automatically enters a deactivated state except for a blinking green beacon. WALL-E, doesn't understand what has happened to his new friend, but true to his love, he protects her from wind, rain, and lightening, even as she is unresponsive. One day a massive ship comes to reclaim Eve, but WALL-E, out of love or loneliness hitches a ride on the outside of the ship to rescue Eve. The ship arrives back at a large space cruise ship, which is carrying all of the humans who evacuated earth 700 years earlier. The people of earth ride around this space resort on hovering chairs which give them a constant feed of TV and video chatting. They drink all of their meals through a straw out of laziness and/or bone loss, and are all so fat that they can barely move. When the auto-pilot computer, acting on hastily given instructions sent many centuries before, tries to prevent the people of earth from returning, by stealing the plant, WALL-E, Eve, the portly captain, and a band of broken robots stage a mutiny. Plot summary from http://www.imdb.com/

My rating:5/10(The story line is boring and not worth to watch it in cinema. Thru out the movie, there is little conversation and most of the time the story is told thru the animation itself. The story line is not innovative and just like normal love story. Its certainly not on the par with Finding nemo, The Incredibles and Ratatouille which I regard as the best animation).

Bangsar Village Shopping Centre

This is the first time that I visit to this shopping complex. The shops inside the complex is normal and it is just like most shopping complexes. There are those all the familiar brands such as G2000, Rauol, MPH, Zara & Haagen Dazs. There are an array of option to choose from when comes to dining. Here you can choose to dine in Reunion, an fine chinese restaurant, Fish & co(1-Utama), Basil Thai Nudle Bar & Chatterbox Hong Kong(Pavilion KL have it too).

Nice decoration but donno for what event.

New Paris Restaurant @ SS2, Petaling Jaya

The service in this restaurant is fast as the food is served within 10 minutes after ordered although the restaurant was full on that time. My friend and I ordered the watermelon chicken, stir fry yam mak choi with salted soy bean and kang po lala. Finding a parking here is a problem if you come later that 7pm especially on sundays. So, make sure you come here early.

This restaurant is located at 62, 64, 66 Jalan SS2/72, 47300 Petaling Jaya.

Tony Roma's @ The Gardens Midvalley

Tony Roma's currently have four outlets in Malaysia with its first in Sunway Piramid. This chain restaurant is famous for its flame grilled ribs and the Malaysia chain only have lamb and beef ribs. Although the Malaysia outlet is without their famous Baby Back Ribs(pork) to maintain their Halal status, I think their lamb is quite good too. The good thing about their fruit juice is that it is bottomless drink which makes it worth.

Taste:9/10(The lamb rib steaks is nice and flavourful. The rosemary chicken is quite good with strong cheese smell).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. The lamb steak is priced at RM45 and chicken steak is at RM30).

Secret Recipe Oreo cheese cake

This cake is consist of frozen cream cheese with loads of crushed Oreo biscuits. My colleagues brought this cake to celebrate my birthday and another colleague which falls on the same month. One funny thing about this cake is that my colleague instruct the Secret Recipe staff to write "AH-BOON AH-CHUAN" on the cake. Then my another collegue dropped the cake and caused the cake writing to become "AH-BOON AH-CHUA" because the letter "N" sticked to the cake box. Then my colleague able to fix the cake writing after they showed me the cake. It supposed to be "AH-BON AH-CHUAN". That's why you can see that the cake letter "N" is not nice. Put back the "N" and throw one "O" out.

Taste:7/10(Moderate. The bottom of the cake contain the crushed Oreo biscuit which is crunchy. The cake is creamy and sticky with strong cheese flavour).
Price:5/10(Moderate. Weight around 1.4kg will set you back RM70).
