Balut eating from Dr Kwek Kwek in Market Market, Fort Bonifacio

A balut is a fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. I tried the food together with my colleague in Market Market and it tasted just like egg. Many people seems reluctant to try this popular food especially in Philippines, Thailand, China & Vietnam. I think they too scare to see the embryo inside. Since the food is boiled, I think it is ok to eat it. Finished it and no fear factor involved.

Taste:7/10(Moderate. Taste just like hard boiled egg).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Cost 14 Peso ~ RM1 per egg).

Dr. Kwek Kwek (egg specialist).

Can't wait to try this.

This is how it looks like. Duck embryo. We eat it with salt.

They also sell quills.
