Home stay @ Chicago

As cost of travel rising, I tried to find alternative cheaper accommodation at good location. For me, location is very important when travelling. The room cost only USD42 or around MYR140 a night. A normal hotel near Downtown Chicago will cost at least USD80 to USD100 a night. With the good location, you can go to the places you wanted to go easier and faster and thus save a lot of travelling. Saving lots of travelling time means you can cover more places in a short visit. However, the leg stamina is always the hindrance. After three to four days of continuous walk, the legs will started to feel pain and that slow down the pace. So good shoe is important as well.

Lets talk about my stay in Chicago. I stayed with a international ballet dancer teacher in an apartment near Willis Tower. She offer a very good deal for a room which is very convenient as it is located in the Chicago Downtown Loop itself. Staying in her place is wonderful. She is so kind, caring and helpful. She make sure that I feel comfortable in her house. Her instructions was clear and she able to answer all my questions. The room is exactly as shown and as described. The room is clean, spacious, comfortable and filled with fantastic decorations. The WIFI connection is good as well. The location of her house is very convenient that and it is just 2 minutes away from CTA blue line station which means very easy accessible to O'Hare airport, Midway airport and the Loop which is the central of Chicago attractions. Union station and the iconic Willis tower is within walking distance. This is the perfect stay in Chicago!

This is the room where I stay for 4 nights in Chicago.

Beautiful and clean room.

The living room.

She is artistic and well decorated house.

Beautiful toilet.

Cute decorations. She has been travelling a lot as well.

Near the Chicago icon - Willis Tower or formerly known as Sears Tower. Tallest building in America.

Comments:

  1. Hey Boon Chuan, great pictures and great report on all your trips. Just one comment though, "toilets" in the U.S. is known as the the pit, not the whole bathroom, per se. So just a note to self, perhaps for the next time you come back to the U.S., if you happen to ask people where the "toilet" is, they'll likely stare at you with their eyes popping out.

  2. I am looking to visit Chicago in a couple of weeks from now (for a week). Can you give me the name of the person to contact for this home stay?
