Disappointing char koay teow @ Sisters Place, Ara Damansara

Sister's Place located just beside Evolve Mall in Ara Damansara is supposingly provide Penang version of food such as char koay teow and curry. However, the taste here were not up to my standard. Although this place is pork free, but they could do it better.

Taste:4/10(So-so. The char koey teow does not have wok hei and does not have fragrant smell and taste. The curry is very diluted and colour not same as in the menu. Colour is out and tasteless).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. Special char koay teow at MYR13.90 which is outrageous. Just a couple of prawns, squid and cockles. The portion is also small. As for curry in chee cheong fun and noodles, it was diluted. Charging MYR8.50 for a bowl of curry noodles is high).

Small portion of special char koay teow. Expensive and taste not that good.

Different curry colour compared to menu and diluted. This chee cheong fun dish is pricey.

The curry noodles does not look appetizing either.

The menu.

Pricey meal.

Saturday night party @ Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur

Zouk KL superclub is the largest nightclub in Malaysia comprises 11 rooms – Zouk Cafe Bar, Beer Garden, Zouk Main Room, Members' Lounge, Velvet Underground, Phuture, Ace, Imperial, Apex Lounge, Glass Box, and Balcony Deck which overlooks the Royal Selangor Golf Club. This is the only nightclub in KL which allows to operate until 5.00am. The cover charge to this club is among the cheapest when compared to others. If you enter before 12.00am, the cover charge will be minimum MYR25 for normal entrance and MYR30 for premium entrance include one drink. Do check out on their website if you want to know more details on the pricing structure. Visited this night club on a Saturday night with premium access which allow access to almost all the rooms. By 1.00am the club was very crowded and smokey. I was there to checkout the feel and to enjoy the loud music with high tech lightning systems.

Review:7/10(Moderate. Although the club is huge but only 3 rooms that has the crowd with party feel. Personally, I prefer the mainroom, Velvet and Phuture. Others are mostly for private events or for more tame environment for discussions. Music wise, Velvet has open format tunes and the rhythm/tempo does make more sense. Phuture is slightly dark and the music appeal more to those who like techno type of music. The crowd in Velvet are mostly younger as well. Main room music is cater for dancing and has the best lightning effect in the club. For group which secure a table, their space is not really private. People can still walking around through and dancing around the table which is not belongs to them. The dance stage is quite small. Do expect to have a deaf feel when you out from the club as the music is very loud).

Air fried wontons at Little Wonton @ Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

Attracted to this cafe as they are selling air fried wontons. I curious to know how does it taste like. Of course the good thing about air fried wontons is oil free. You able to savour your favourite wonton without the nasty oil residue. The selection of wontons and noodles here are good. You can basically choose some fancy wonton flavours such as mushroom onion cheese, chili chicken pineapple, banana peanut butter, spicy Thai tuna, black pepper chicken, crabstick cheese and chicken cranberry. As for the noodles, you can also expect similar funky taste such as vinegar garlic lychee, spicy peanut butter and spicy pickled vegetables. Me being slightly conservative picked creamy roasted sesame noodles and have a set of mixed wontons. I choose mixed wontons as I like surprises on the wonton flavours. The place provide high speed wifi and you can enjoy your meal while surfing the net.

Taste:7/10(Moderate. The texture of the wontons is crispy when it's fresh. Its recommended to eat it while hot. I found the chocolate banana flavour and mushroom onion cheese taste the best. Each of the wonton is quite heavy and its pack of ingredients. The noodles taste is moderate as I don't find it special other than they have a variety of flavours to choose from and its black. Maybe the creamy roasted sesame noodles does not appeal to my taste. Maybe other flavour next time).
Price:6/10(Moderate. I took their all day set of little wonton value meal set. It includes a bowl of charcoal noodles, 6 pieces of wontons and a cup of lemongrass tea for MYR17.00. Since I choose mixed wonton, I get 8 wontons instead. The downside of having mixed wontons is that you can't choose the flavour. So its random).

Charcoal noodles with creamy roasted sesame sauce. Nice lemongrass tea.

They claimed the charcoal noodle brings good benefit to health.

Decent New Zealand beef noodles from Gyuniku Signature @ Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

Its has been long time I never step into my unknown territory of Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. Comedy show does encourage me to explore for food in this area while I waiting for showtime. I found this beef noodles shop which is quite interesting as they serve beef noodles using beef from New Zealand. The shop has been there for a few years but I only discovered it recently. Without thinking too much, as usual I will take the shop signature dish which is their mixed kuey teow soup special with beef balls, ox tongue, tripe, brisket, sliced beef, shank and tendon. Best of all, the bowl contains all the goodness from cow.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. The beef is tender and flavourful. The soup is natural taste and can feel its homemade. The chili sauce makes the beef taste even better).
Price:6/10(Moderate. The price of the beef noodles here is slightly more expensive if you compared to somewhere else. A bowl of signature kuey teow soup at MYR18.00. However, they are using good quality imported beef and taste good).

Delicious beef noodles with mixture of beef parts.

The sauce which comes with the noodles taste great.

Old fashion type of shop interior. Its still empty as I came early.

Maintaining the tradition.
