Unlike other cities’ mobile food trucks, most Portland carts stay put in groups dubbed “pods,” making it a snap to sample several at a time. You’ll also find smaller groups and individual carts scattered around the city. Food carts provide excellent value (typically priced below $10) and an amazing variety of foods. Prepare to wait several minutes as most food is prepared fresh.

Gorgeous scenery of Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah Falls & Bonneville Dam @ Portland, Oregon

This is a must visit place if you are coming to Portland, Oregon. The Columbia River Gorge is gorgeous and the Multnomah waterfall is impressive. The view along the old highway up to the dam is wonderful. I took a tour bus and I like the trip with many stop along the Columbia River Gorge scenic area. The trip on the tour bus were great and it cost me USD54 with the whole trip takes about 4 hours 15 minutes. In the 4 hours time, you are able to view the best of Columbia River Gorge.

Lets visit Latourell Falls.

This waterfall is unique with a huge yellow spot. The water drops straight down from an overhanging basalt cliff.


Fresh air and the surroundings is so peaceful to watch the constant water flow.

Bonneville Dam is managed by United States Army Corps of Engineers.

Bradford Island Fishway. This is an example of fish ladder.


Fish ladder. To cope with fish migration problems, the Bonneville dam features fish ladders to help native salmon and steelhead get past the dam on their journey upstream to spawn. I did study about this is geography classes but can't imagine that I am able to visit one someday. Fascinating!

Famous Voodoo Doughnut @ Portland, Oregon

Voodoo Doughnut is an independent doughnut shop based in Portland, Oregon which is known for its unusual doughnuts and iconic pink boxes featuring the company logo and illustrations of voodoo priests. Their slogan is "The magic is in the hole". Voodoo Doughnut have two shop in Portland and I went to the main shop. This shop open 24 hours and only accept cash. Now the question is why many people are crazy about their doughnut? It due to its unusual doughnut, cheaper price and popularity. Their most famous doughnut is the bacon with maple bar & voodoo doll.

Taste:8/10(Good. I like the bacon maple bar doughnut as the it have the two extreme taste. The bacon is very salty and the maple bar is very sweet. It complement with each other. The bacon is very crunchy as well. However the can't eat the doughnut too much as its very sweet).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Voodoo doughnut price is cheaper when compared to other doughnut shop. Each piece of doughnut priced around USD2.00 to USD3.00 depends on the type of the doughnut).

Voodoo Doughnut is such an iconic shop in Portland, Oregon that people are queueing to buy their doughnut around the clock!


Its weird here to queue whole day for doughnut. So keep Portland weird!
