Excellent fries and bison burger at High West Distillery & Saloon @ Park City, Utah, USA

We had our lunch here as per good review from online while I was looking for place to have good food in Park City. The food option in Park City is quite limited as its a small town. I had the distillery tour at this High West distillery before but don't have chance to eat there at that time. Now, I know that this place serves great food and the must try their best ever blue cheese coated fries. If you like vodka/whiskey, do tried their locally brewed spirit as well. I would recommend anyone to come here for lunch/dinner if you happen to visit Park City, Utah.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Their burger was good and its my first time to have bison meat burger. The one item that must try here is their fries. Its the best fries that I have so far. The fries mixed with blue cheese which is the best combination. The Schnitzel which is wild boar meat slice is just moderate with uneven flavoring. Half part taste blend but another half taste great. However, I do like the Schnitzel topped with caper. The stout drink that we ordered were good, however we missed the chance to sample their vodka/whiskey).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. High West burger with fries at USD18.00, The Schnitzel at USD23.00 and Samuel Smith oatmeal stout at USD7.00. Total bill at USD48.00).




High West burger. Its a 8oz bison & beef blend patty. The fries with Gruyere blue cheese, whiskey braised onions & toasted house bun.

This is the best fries that I ever had. It mixed with Gruyere blue cheese. Excellent.


The schnitzel. Fried wild boar meat with house greens. The meat was topped with caper & bacon bitters vinaigrette.

Samuel Smith Oatmeal stout. Its weird that we choose made in England stout instead.

The Eating Establishment was opened in 1972 and holds the honor of being the oldest full service restaurant in Park City.

Taste:7/10(Moderate. The omelette and the burger is just normal and nothing to shout about. We are looking at other place for breakfast but unfortunately, all are closed).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Park City omelette price at USD10.45. The additional blue cheese at USD0.35 and the Chicago burger cost USD9.95).

SIlverado Lodge @ Park City, Utah

This is my third time staying in Silverado Lodge during my annual visit to Park City, Utah, USA for an airline conference. Silverado Lodge is quite new and therefore the facility in this hotel is still great. The beds are comfortable, spacious, with kitchen so that we can cook and he a nice toilet. The pictures below will tell you how great is this hotel. The front counter service is good and helpful. This time, we took the two bed room suite.

Rating:9/10(Great. Good hotel with all the required facilities located at in a nice ski resort. The only missing item is a restaurant).

Asian Food in Park City, Utah

I have been in Park City, Utah for 5 days on conference. Below I eat and shared among my fellow colleagues. Apparently during the off-season here, there is not much food selection over here. However, what ever they have it, the standard are quite above the par.

Panda Express (Chinese style fast food concept)
This is a fast food Chinese food concept in the US. The food looks healthy and its ready prepared. Just order what you want at the counter and pay it on the spot.
Taste:7/10(Moderate. The broccoli is very crunchy but hard to our standard. The noodle taste is moderate).
Price:7/10(Moderate. Priced at USD5.50 for 3 items meal).

Taste of Saigon (Vietnamese-Park City Main Street)
Taste:8/10(Delicious. The main specialty here is the beef noodles and vegetables non fried spring rolls).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Averaged to USD15 per person. The beef noodle portion is big).

Morning Ray Cafe @ Park City Main Street, Utah

We went to this shop as an alternative to the "No Name Saloon" shop for breakfast as the "No Name Saloon" no longer serve breakfast. Guess what, the breakfast turn out to be better & worthy.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Good breakfast and big portion).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Considering the portion is big and taste good, spending USD12 for the set meal put a cup of good hot chocolate is worth it).

Taste:9/10(Delicious. This dinner serving tasted rather good also. The wild mushroom pizza has a strong mushroom taste and the pizza has a wood taste. Taste rather original though. The buffalo wings is good too).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Averaged at USD16 per person).

The Cabin Restaurant(Grand Summit Hotel) @ The Canyons, Park City, Utah

I never tried this restaurant last year and amazingly, the food served is good and the price is quite reasonable. On the day we dine here, we are the only customers. Seems like we booked the whole restaurant for our own :-) The business here are rather seasonal and at times the restaurant may shut down and only open upon request.

Taste:10/10(Excellent. The food are all well done & taste good).
Price:6/10(Moderate. USD20 per person).

Park City, Utah - snowing - 2010

I am quite lucky this year to be able to experience my first snow in my life. The snow in Park City is fluffy, soft & dry. This makes this place a perfect world class ski resort. Some even claims that Park City have the "Greatest snow on earth!" According to the locals, the snow that we experience when we arrived, is the first snow of the year. It was autumn during that time. During winter, this place will be crowded with visitors from around the world and the hotel rate could increase up to triple that what we had. Great scenery, cold weather, located remotely up the mountain & good food makes this place a perfect getaway destination. Snow is fun to play with especially if you have the proper clothing & equipment. Everyone has to be very careful especially when walking or driving during snowing as the path/road is slippery & poor visibility. Last year during this period, Park City is still sunny but with windy cold weather. The only pain of coming to this place is flight that one have to endure (24 hours plus transit).
