Budget London Trip Itinerary - 8 Days 7 Nights - Spring season

London is an expensive city to visit. However, you can do it well under budget of MYR2500 (500 Pound) for one week for food, entrance fee and within London travel expenses exclude flight if you are able to plan well. Do skip insignificant places which charges high entrance fees as London free museums are world class standard and you will need a few days just to visit them. The good thing about London is the entrance to the major museums such as British Museum, Tote Modern, Victoria & Albert museum and Natural History Museum are all free. Being a capital of United Kingdom, there are many food options, culture and attractions to visit. Do try out the food from many ethnic groups here for the unique taste.


Oyster card is a must for budget traveller in London. If you stay for one week, do consider an Oyster card and load it with one week unlimited travel on zone 1 and zone 2. Applicable for both London tube and buses.

Horse Guards Parade, is a large parade ground off Whitehall in central London. As well as being the venue for changing The Queen's Life Guard it is also the location for Trooping the Colour, which commemorates the Queen's Birthday, and Beating Retreat.

Just reaching London and checked in hostel at around 7.00pm, I don't have much itinerary plan during the day. So I plan to have a walk around Westminster to capture the glimpse around the area at night. During the day it would be different scene as there will be many tourists around.

Beautiful leather clothing at Lewis Leathers @ London, England

Lewis Leather which is the oldest British motorcycle clothing company produced the famous iconic leather jackets. Its famous due to selling high quality and uniquely styled classical motorcycle protective clothing. Most of the jacket here are made of cow hide while some custom order jackets are made in lamb leather. Lamb leather is softer by texture. Me personally does not like lamb leather as its deem too soft and not that effective for protection against the elements. Besides that, I am still in opinion, cow hide last longer.

Outside UK, Lewis leather is very popular in Japan & Taiwan market. In Japan they have countless of distributors. But the downside on to buy the jacket in Japanese market is the price is almost double of the price offered in London! So expensive. In Taiwan they have one very famous distributor which is The Thurs. The jacket selling point is that it looks cool and often associated with punk group, 59 Club in London, rock musicians and fashion icons which is great followers of youngster nowadays. The popular models of Lewis Leathers are Dominator, Lightning & Cyclone. Do visit them if you like leather jacket and happen to be at London as they produced the best quality leather jacket with a great style.

London to Munich via British Airways (standby pax)

Being an airline staff you will enjoy the privileges of airline standby travel programme. The programme enable an airline staff to travel with any eligible airlines at a discounted rate. The downside of this benefit however is its on standby. Meaning if the flight have empty seats, you may get on board. Else you will need to wait for the next flights. The benefit is good to utilize during non-peak season and if you don't plan to bring many persons with you. So far being a solo traveller enable me to use this benefit with a high success rate to get on board. Chances of getting one empty seat during peak season is higher than two empty seats.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. I like the lemon & herb chicken salad wrap served on board. Its good. And the tomato juice with Worcestershire Sauce is also a plus point).


Standby for flight from London to Munich. Watched carefully of my flight status changes as if I don't get this flight, I need to wait for the next one. British airways computerise standby system is very convenient as whatever display here is final and the standby pax don't need to always go to the counters to check on their status.

They give this lemon and herb chicken salad wrap. I ordered tomato juice this time as I saw them put Lea & Perrins into the tomato juice. Its proven that the tomato juice taste better with the sauce.

Its a two hours flight from London to Munich, Germany. So just sit down, relax and enjoy the meal.

Portobello Road Market @ London, England

I went the market during summer time and found out that it is rather congested. Beware of pickpockets. There are many stalls selling many kinds of items such as antiques, food, clothing, souvenir and vintage items. The atmosphere is some sort of festival here where you can see many kinds of human action and behaviour. Here also houses the world famous bookshop which is made popular by the "Notting Hill" film. You can find international types of food here such as Spanish, Indian, Turkish and French food here.

Seafood rice or Paella.

Purchased the seafood paella and its a mistake. I don't like the taste and the rice is too hard to swallow. Price at 7.00 Pound per box which is expensive.

Healthy travel. I need fruits as well.

Along the way to Portobello road market there are many shops selling liquors.
