La Boheme @ Jusco

I found out the walnut bread from La Boheme is quite nice and soft. It contains plenty amount of walnut and raisin in the bun. La Boheme is Jusco bread shop.

Taste: 8/10(good. not too sweet).
Price: 8/10(cheap. The size is quite large and it is priced at RM2.50 per bun).

Walnut bun.

Bread Talk @ Pavilion, KL

This is the second entry in my blog on bread outlet. This might scare Au Yong as he claimed that he eat bread in UK everyday. I like their chicken floss bread. The bread is tasty with sinful amount of chicken floss filled with cream like mayonnaise. There are two varians plain & spicy chicken floss. Bread Talk also famous for their 'see thru kitchen' which allows their chefs to showcase their expertise and to allow customers to watch the bread making process.

Taste: 9/10(Great chicken floss bun. The garlic bread & serunding bun is good too).
Price: 4/10(I would consider the price as expensive. Each bun will cost you RM2.50 to RM4.00 depends on the types of filling).

Fragrant coffee buns at Rotiboy Bakery@KLCC

I like rotiboy bread especially the coffee plus sweet butter bun. Although I seldom drink coffee, I like the bun very much as the combination of coffee and butter is amazing. Rotiboy have a creative tagline "One is never enough... buns to die for!" The KLCC branch business is good as the queue were never ending. Now there are many versions/copy cat of the coffee bun such as Papa Roti, Roti Mama & Baker's boy but they are still not up the the Rotiboy standard.

Taste: 9/10(Among the tastiest bread I ever eat! Best served hot. Quite addictive and surely one is not enough! A bit oily).
Price: 6/10(moderate - priced at RM1.50 per bun is a bit high compared to normal bun. But the taste make up for that price).

Rotiboy bun before in oven.

Yummy bread.

Toll Issue @ Mahkota Cheras Town

The toll issue & barricade of Mahkota Cheras is on headlines nearly everyday. The heavy protest comes from the residents because they are forced to pay RM1.80 (both ways) toll. The toll route not only significantly further but it is also waste of time and petrol/fuel for the residents. This will contribute to global warming and wastage of natural resources. This shows that some people out there who is more concern of money making business rather than giving conveinence to the residents.

Have a look. The toll route is extra 6.7km! Anyone who see this will sure angry. Got free road but blocked.

Residents gather at the site where the free access road is blocked.

Residents removed the barricade.

Fatty House Mee Hoon Kuih @ Taman Berkeley, Klang

The mee hoon kuih are hand made and cooked in anchovies stock. Vegetables, pork slices, liver and eggs are added according to customer's preference. Be prepared to wait for your mee hoon kuih as customer come to this shop in a never-ending stream. They also sell the uncooked noodle dough and stock which is conveinent for those who don't have time to prepare the dough themselves. However, my version of mee hoon kuih is still the best ;-) . Another specialty here is the barley plus cincau drink which is unusual but a perfect combination. Located in Lebuh Bangau of Taman Berkeley, Klang.

Taste: 8/10(The soup is sweet and tasty. The mee hoon kuih is springy and thin. Each bowl of mee hoon kuih is prepared in a small pot separately.)
Price: 8/10(cheap. Large bowl with egg is priced at RM3.70).

Restaurant Pao Xiang @ Taman Berkeley, Klang

This bak kut teh restaurant is famous for its tied pork. Yes, the pork is tied by string then cooked in bak kut teh soup. They claimed this method can reduce fat/oil on the pork. It is situated on Lebuh Bangau in Taman Berkeley, Klang. The road is in opposite of the famous Klang Hokkien Association building. The service during order & pay is bad. The tauke soh is so slow.

Taste: 6/10(Tender and nice pork. Less fat compared to other bak kut teh stall. But the soup needs to be improved. The soup is lack the bak kut teh herbs taste. I think it is more to soy sauce pork meat).
Price: 7/10(Reasonable).

This is how the shop look like.

Sicko Movie

Sicko is a documentary that look at health care in the United States as provided by profit-oriented health maintenance organizations (HMOs) compared to free, universal care in Canada, the U.K., and France. Moore contrasts U.S. media reports on Canadian care with the experiences of Canadians in hospitals and clinics there. He interviews patients and doctors in the U.K. about cost, quality, and salaries. He examines why Nixon promoted HMOs in 1971, and why the Clintons' reform effort failed in the 1990s. He talks to U.S. ex-pats in Paris about French services, and he takes three 9/11 clean-up volunteers, who developed respiratory problems, to Cuba for care.
In this movie, Moore exposed some of the tactics that is used by insurance companies to denial claims and doctors being paid more(some sort of commission) if they are able to denial insurance claims in United States.
A quick check on the world health system ranking, Malaysia is at 49 compared to France at number one, Singapore at 6, Thailand at 47 and US at 37.

My rating for this movie: 8/10 (give you an alternative view on what is happening in the world where rat race is on.)

JCard Member Day @ Jusco Bukit Tinggi Klang

Jcard Member day is always being a being the best time for shoppers to look for bargains items. Most branded items having discounts of up to 70%. For me, clothes is the best items to buy during this time. This is my second time to visit this member day event after last year's event in Mid Valley. I am able to pick up a few office wear shirts and T-shirts this time. However, food items and electrical item don't have high discounts. Most electrical items only discount for around 5-15%.
Buyers should also beware of some items that is priced higher during this time eventhough after 50% discount. For example the cushion case that I have brought during chinese new year we priced at around RM50. But today, I saw that the same items is priced at RM109 and discount 50%. It will cost me more RM4 if I were not aware of the initial price.
So always being a smart consumer by comparing the prices & look at the quality whether the product is worth that amount of money that you pay. Some shirt may be cheap eg RM15-25 but the material used is low quality and you may 'see through' the shirt!

Broucher that Jusco sent to me.

Lai Foong Beef Noodle

The beef noodle stall is situated in Lai Foong restaurant(Jalan Tan Cheng Lock & Jalan Tun HS Lee intersection). This stall is quite famous in the Petaling Street area in KL and has been operating for over 50 years. I always been to this place if I happen to passby here. Their beef and tripe were so tender and juicy. Their beef noodle soup is thick and has strong salted vegetables taste. They also add some chinese herbs & spices in their soup too.

Taste: 9/10(delicious-the best ever beef noodle that I have tried. Will get full 10/10 from me if the meat ball is better).
Price: 8/10(cheap-large bowl of noodle with ample of beef is priced at RM5).

Located in Food Republic in Pavilion, it sells chicken siu pau, lou poh peng and chicken pie. Besides normal egg tart, it also have durian flavoured egg tart & white egg tart which is healthier.
