Restaurant Taman Rashna, Klang

Restaurant Taman Rashna is among the famous restaurant in Klang which is always chosen by wedding couples in Klang. The strategic location which is just opposite the Hokkien Association building in Klang makes it easy to access via Federal Highway. I was invited for a wedding dinner in this restaurant and my comments as below.

Taste: 7/10(Moderate. Overall the food taste just above average. The first dish on the five dumpling is good. The dry steamed prawn is also good. Others is just normal. What really attracted me is the steamed prawn & the way it is cooked. It is cooked on the spot with just pouring a mixture into the pot. Which I wonder what it is).
Price: Not applicable (wedding dinner).

Non-Halal.

The first dish is always the five items.

Mostly dumplings. Fried dumplings with wanton skin with pork filling.

Steamed dumpling. Some sort like siew mai.

Stir fried scallops with mixed vegetables.

Shark fin soup.

Steam promfet (fish).

Fried pork rib and chicken. The chicken seems like vegetarian type of chicken.

Bean curd sticks with mushroom with broccoli.

This is the best part. Dry steamed prawn. The waiter hold the prawn & beer (maybe. If you know what is this do tell me).

The prawn was thrown in to the pot with charcoal below.

The mixture (beer or turpentine), quickly pour into the pot.

Then close the cover.

Smoke all over the restaurant.

Still smoking.

The prawn output. Clean & colour changed to indicate it is cooked.

Lotus leaf glutinous rice dumpling.

Lychee soup as dessert.

Small pau (small pork bun) & sesame dumpling.

Soo Kee Restaurant @ Imbi, KL

This is a well known restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. It famous for river prawn noodles, beef hor fun (kuey teow) & paper wrapped chicken.

Taste:8/10(Good. The meal is quite good but a bit salty).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The plate of the noodles with drinks for two cost me RM24. Make sure you ask the price if you plan to order their famous sang har mee. The prawn is very big but the price can reach RM35-45 for a large prawn. Located near the tourist attraction area, no wonder their price is higher).

Non-Halal.

Tried their pork with prawn & innards in deep fried noodles. The taste is still good but not at my expectation yet. Will order their beef hor fun or paper wrapped chicken next time.

Kuala Lumpur Shopping Mall Christmas Decorations 2010

After having seen the Christmas decoration in Singapore last week. I headed to Kuala Lumpur this week to have a last minute shopping in conjunction of MYES (Malaysia Year End Sale). The Christmas decoration in Malaysia is concentrated in shopping mall rather than on the street. This year Pavilion KL also have a great decoration as compared to last year. This year a new shopping mall Fahrenheit 88 replace the old KL Plaza. The main tenant in Fahrenheit 88 is the famous Japanese fashion apparel brand - UNIQLO.

You can see that UNIQLO is everywhere on the main concourse.

The Christmas tree constructed using thousands of compact discs (CDs).

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Another grand Christmas decoration in Pavilion KL.

The main Bukit Bintang Pavilion KL entrance is always been an attractions. So crowded on the Christmas day.

LOT 10

This is of course not Christmas decoration. This is more on promoting YES-One of Malaysia's 4G network based on prepaid pay per use model.

Everywhere YES.

Public are evaluating YES. Yup, its super fast but it is expensive if you use more than 3GB a month. 3GB sure not enough is the network is super fast. You can watch many Youtube video without waiting for buffering and sure your 3GB (~RM68) will finish soon!

Orchid Garden & Orchard Road @ Singapore

My day 4 of Singapore trip is the most colourful of all. A visit to Botanical garden & National Orchid Garden is worth the nature experience. The garden is well maintained, clean & almost perfect. Botanical garden entrance is free while the orchid garden needs SGD5. Getting here is a bit hassle. You will need to take MRT to Orchard Road then take a taxi from there. From Orchard it cost around SGD5 by cab. With the new MRT extension which is currently under construction, visitors & tourists will be more convenient of coming to this place.

Orchard Road - Shopping Day

After done our tour in the gardens, we went back to Orchard for shopping. I didn't buy anything as the price here is not cheap. The only thing I like here is great choices and they have more brands compared to in Malaysia. One more thing that I like is the food here. Quite lucky to be able to choose a restaurant which serve good braised duck. More story below...
