Tai O fishing village @ Lantau Island, Hong Kong

Tai O is a famous fishing village in Hong Kong also known as Venice of Hong Kong. This place was not in my initial list of my place to visit, but since we still got time after visiting the giant Buddha & Ngong Ping. I found out that there is a bus going to Tai O from Ngong Ping village and the fare is quite cheap. As you go into the village, you may see many stalls selling dried seafood items such as oysters, fish maw, shrimp paste and salted fish.

Reached Tai O village. It started with a map.

Misc dried seafood.

Fresh seafood.

Aunties bargaining on the seafood. So noisy :-)

Sea clam. So huge.

Beautiful view with hill as backdrop. Very scenic view.

Puffer fish serve as decoration.

Another nice view. Classic view fishing village consist of water, hill & soil.

Had a simple lunch in Tai O. Squid delicacy.

Prawn paste pork.

You can come here by bus 21 from Ngong Ping.
