Mun Wah Hokkien Mee @ Maharajalela, Kuala Lumpur

Mun Wah Hokkien Mee is one of the oldest and famous restaurant in Kuala Lumpur which is still serving hokkien noodles in a traditional way. My experience here was good as there is plenty of parking as I reached here almost 9.00pm on sunday night. Located at the road side of Jalan Maharajalela, you can see this shop obviously as it has many tables on the road side with many patrons.

Taste:8/10(Good. The hokkien noodles were great with moist thick gravy. It has pig's liver which hard to find in hokkien noodles nowadays. The fish cake is good as well as the texture is succulent. The pork soup is just so-so as the meat I think is over starched and oily soup).
Price:6/10(Moderate. I ordered hokkien noodles, fried fish cake, pork soup and barley drink which all cost MYR23.00. However, the one person hokkien noodles portion is too small).

My portion of fried hokkien noodles with sambal and barley drink.

The hokkien noodles is still fried in a traditional way with the necessary ingredient. Its hard to find fried hokkien noodles with pig's liver nowadays. Besides that, it also contain sufficient amount of pork meat and lard in the noodles.

Besides hokkien mee, Mun Wah also famous for its fish cake. They claimed the fish cake is made from saito fish (ikan parang). Taste good while its hot and with the chili sauce.

Pork soup with cabbage. This soup taste is just so-so.
