Tai O fishing village @ Lantau Island, Hong Kong

Tai O is a famous fishing village in Hong Kong also known as Venice of Hong Kong. This place was not in my initial list of my place to visit, but since we still got time after visiting the giant Buddha & Ngong Ping. I found out that there is a bus going to Tai O from Ngong Ping village and the fare is quite cheap. As you go into the village, you may see many stalls selling dried seafood items such as oysters, fish maw, shrimp paste and salted fish.

Reached Tai O village. It started with a map.

Misc dried seafood.

Fresh seafood.

Aunties bargaining on the seafood. So noisy :-)

Sea clam. So huge.

Beautiful view with hill as backdrop. Very scenic view.

Puffer fish serve as decoration.

Another nice view. Classic view fishing village consist of water, hill & soil.

Had a simple lunch in Tai O. Squid delicacy.

Prawn paste pork.

You can come here by bus 21 from Ngong Ping.

Ngong Ping 360 @ Lantau Island, Hong Kong

Ngong Ping is a village with the world's tallest outdoor seated bronze Buddha (Tian Tan) and Po Lin Monastery. This place can be reached by bus & cable car. Of course nothing beat the great scenery view from the cable car. On that day, I actually arrive here to take cable car on 9am. But they only open at 10am. With one hour time to spare, we went to Disneyland MRT station and the entrance of Hong Kong Disneyland for photo session.

Giant Buddha visit.

Waiting in queue to buy tickets. They offers many kind of packages. You don't need tour to enjoy Ngong Ping. Just a cable car ticket will do. From Ngong Ping, you able to take bus no 21 to Tai O fishing village. If I not mistaken the bus fare is just around HKD8.00.

Long queue to take the cable car. The cable car is quite frequent so the waiting time is not too bad. Everything is so efficient.

We took the Crystal cable car. The bottom of cable car can see thru. The price is just RM20 difference compared to the normal cable car.

Not recommended for those who scare of height and water.

Airport view from the cable car.

Almost the giant Buddha site.

Many people on that day.

This stair is easier to climb compared to the one in Batu Caves, Malaysia. The number of steps is lesser and the stair is wider. Not too difficult.

Nice view from the top.

The statue is huge.

Great view of Giant Buddha from a far.

Its time to go back now. My ticket for the cable car ride.

Another scenic view from cable car.

Heading back to Hong Kong. High rise building, hill & cable car. Good combination for scenic view.

Dim Sum @ Maxis Palace, Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong

After searching for around 20 minutes around our accommodation area, we finally decided to have breakfast in this posh restuarant. At first, we are quite reluctant to go into this restaurant as it seems to be grand and nicely decorated plus me & my partner not able to read chinese words. After my friend open his mouth to ask about the price range, then only we dare to have our breakfast here :-)

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Anyone went to Hong Kong will surely try their dim sum. It is there favourite breakfast meal. The dim sum here no matter what will taste better compared to the one in Malaysia. I found that their dim sum contains more material and they are more generous to put in the essential items. Of course it comes with a price).
Price:6/10(Moderate. I won't say it is expensive as the meal is rather fresh and tasty. The dish shown below is around MYR50 per person).

Pork bun.

Sweet and taste good pork bun.

Porridge.

Lotus leaf rice.

This is how the lotus leaf glutinous rice look like. Delicious.

Deep fried yam dumpling.

Sesame dumpling with lotus paste.

Meat dumpling or siew mai.

Prawn dumpling. The good thing about this dumpling is that it is freshly made when you order it. This dish must serve hot.

Chee chong fun. Tasty.
