Unique traditional tofu of Tousuiro Gion Branch @ Kyoto, Japan

This restaurant was introduced by my personal student tour guide that I engaged for the day. We had this Machiya-Zen set which every meal is made of tofu/soy bean. The experience was great as this is the first time I am trying traditional meal in Japan.

Taste:8/10(Delicious. This meal is for those who like to taste the real Japanese tofu cruise. You get the real taste of tofu which you may not get it else where. Eating tofu here is like an art where the chef presented the meal carefully and you eat it bit by bit. Although the portion seems small, you get the sense of fullness after this meal).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. We ordered the Machiya-zen set which cost 2,205 Yen. For some this rate is considered as expensive but you may want to try it to experience the traditional taste of Japanese tofu. This is a full course meal which you may not miss it).

Traditional looking restaurant.

This is the main dish. First time trying the traditional Kyoto tofu.

Getting ready for lunch.

Starter made of tofu. Its sweet.

This is called yakuba.

Fried tempura.

Grilled tofu with special Japanese black sauce.

This is the way to eat the main course tofu. Dip in the special sauce. The sauce is like soy sauce but less salty.

Rice with some Japanese pickles and miso soup.

The meal end with super smooth soy bean ice cream as dessert.
