Pork curry tonkatsu at COCO Ichibanya @ Gotanda, Tokyo, Japan

COCO Ichibanya is a chain restaurant in Japan which serves chicken or pork tonkatsu in spicy sauce. In japan, they have more than 1200 outlets. The service is attentive, fast and efficient. You need to decide on three items when you order for meal in COCO Ichibanya. First is to decide what type of curry you want: chicken, pork or beef curry. Then the amount of rice. Less rice gets price reduction. And finally the level of spiciness. Their tagline is Good Smell, Good Curry. I visited their Gotanda outlet which is near to JR station and my review as below.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. The pork curry taste good with crispy pork tonkatsu. The rice is succulent and blends well with the curry. The curry is flavourful).
Price:7/10(Moderate. I ordered the pork tonkatsu with 200g of rice with regular spicy curry. Less rice get discounted here. The meal price was 7XX Yen and its good)

Delicious pork curry rice.

The curry blends well with the sticky rice.

Good place to have supper. You can see how they cook the tonkatsu if you sit near the counter. I like the fast food restaurant setup in Japan as they have open kitchen which allow visitor to view the cooking process.

You can choose the spicy level from the menu. If you need extra spicy, then you have to pay for it.

Same as rice. If you need more rice, you have to pay for it. But if you need less rice, then you will get price reduction from the standard menu. How nice it is.
