Delicious Malay cuisine at De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan @ The LINC, Kuala Lumpur

Restaurant De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan is quite popular even though it just open its door about 3 weeks ago. Many would like to try the dishes of this popular celebrity chef which I watched his cooking programme on television during my secondary school days. The food served are authentic Malay cuisine with free flow of 3 types of rice. They have white, yellow and egg rice. I personally like their egg rice the most as its very tasty with lots of shallots and dried prawns.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. I like their peanut sauce chicken as the meat is tender and the rich and creamy peanut sauce flavour absorbed into the chicken, makes this dish quite good. The oxtail soup is tasty with strong aromatic of local spices flavour. The soup is thick and the broth is tasty with their rice. The daging rendang Selangor is good but its not that memorable. The meat still not tender enough and this type of rendang is a bit wet. Bubur som som dessert is very good if you like very sweet stuff. I personally like the dessert. But if you don't like sweet, I don't think you will like such super intense sweetness of gula Melaka).
Price:3/10(Expensive. Peanut sauce chicken at MYR32.00, oxtail soup at MYR33.00, daging rendang Selangor at MYR59.00, bubur som som dessert at MYR16.00 and rice at MYR7.00 per person).

I would recommend my fellow readers to try this restaurant if they would like to taste authentic Malay food and to enjoy the good ambiance of the restaurant plus probability of meetup with Chef Wan himself there.

Nice and elegant reception.

Oxtail soup. Aromatic and thick broth that goes very well with their rice.

Peanut sauce chicken and daging rendang Selangor.

This dish of peanut sauce chicken is outstanding.

I less enjoy this daging rendang Selangor as I expected something drier and more tender beef.

Yellow rice and egg rice with oxtail. Yummy.

**Note: This restaurant has closed down. The food getting worse before its closing**
Banana leaf restaurant is another new addition to Citta Mall list of interesting eating place. They have awesome fried bitter gourd and rasam. Do try out their varieties of curries such as crab, squid and cockles curries as those are their specialities. They use better briyani for rice unlike others which use normal rice. Good value meal and taste good.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Their fried bitter gourd and rasam soup are better than other banana leaf restaurant. Their spicy level is a bit too hot for me but taste good).

Porky steamed rice at Sin Kee restaurant @ Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur

Sin Kee restaurant is a very crowded restaurant especially during lunch and dinner time. People come here to try their signature pork steamed rice also known as mun fan. Its a gravy laden rice with stewed pork. The serving amount is generous with big bowl of rice mixed with vegetables, stewed pork, chinese sausage, prawn and egg. Almost each tables ordered a portion of the signature steamed rice.

Taste:7/10(Moderate. The mun fan rice portion is huge with abundant of stewed pork slices. The rice however is slightly too salty for my liking and stewed pork slices lacked of aroma. Fried rice were good with plenty of ingredients plus lap cheong).
Price:8/10(Cheap. The portion here is huge. Each serving here is covered with big bowl. The mun fan and fried rice has adequate ingredients inside. Mun fan and fried rice priced at MYR9.50 each).
