Jenny Bakery Cookies from Hong Kong

Recently a friend back from Hong Kong brought me this Jenny Bakery cookies. I am quite surprised with the good taste of this cookies especially their butter and coffee cookies. No wonder they dare to claim that they are "A true Hong Kong Treat" and "Probably the best cookies in the world" wow... The cookies is famous for heavy after taste of butter and the shop always has long queue. Their constant change on the packaging design is also the main attraction to their cookies.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. The cookies are very rich, buttery, creamy and crumbly which melts in your mouth. The quality of the cookies is also quite consistent. For first timer, do buy their 4 mix butter cookies with butter flower, shortbread, raisin oat and coffee flower. I personally find that butter flower is the best followed by coffee flower).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. The cookie price at HKD75 for small container of 320 gram and HKD140 for 640 gram).

Jenny Bakery cookies container design. They always have cute teddy bear design which is an attraction by itself.

Bread Talk has join the craze to create everything with salted egg. They have introduced salted egg croissant. Wondering whether this kind of craze is a health disaster especially high sodium and cholesterol content in salted egg.

Taste:8/10(Good. The taste of the salted egg croissant is quite good but lacking the flow or melt in your mouth factor. I brought 1 piece but the lava does not flow like as shown in the picture :-P ).

Delicious pastries from Gontran Cherrier Artisan Boulanger @ Shinjuku, Tokyo

Gontran Cherrier in Shinjuku located just opposite of south exit of the busy Shinjuku station. The double storey space at Southern Terrace were steps away from Shinjuku Lumine departmental store. I was attracted into this store as I saw many people were queueing to buy their pastries and bread. I thought to have a try since I was hungry at that time. From the display outside the shop, you can already see trays of beautifully made breads and pastries. I do noticed their pastries product were very creative as well with many unexpected varieties such curry baguette, green tea scone, squid ink baguette with cumin and miso cheese bread.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Their butter croissant covered with milky crust is the best bakery item that I have tried so far. The taste were amazing and the croissant have much butter flavour. Aromatic, buttery fragrance, soft and fluffy. Their cheese baguette with cheese and olive also good as well with balance hint of saltiness. The green tea scone have full butter flavour however were a bit too sweet).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The bread in Gontran Cherrier is not cheap. You get good quality pastries and bread from the price that you pay. The bread range from 200 Yen to 400 Yen per piece. The scone price at 230 Yen, butter croissant at 250 Yen and cheese baguette at 250 Yen).
