Lunch set at Marble 8 @ KLCC

Marble 8 is a fine dining restaurant that you can't go on your own without escort :-). In order to access level 56 of Menara 3 Petronas, the restaurant staff will escort you thru the 2 lifts and need to pass by a security check. Marble 8 restaurant interior were quite elegant black. I choose their 4 course meal lunch set which includes an appetizer, pasta, main course and dessert. The pasta portion itself is quite huge and filling.

Taste:8/10(Good. Special mention to their crispy bread as it is very good. The appetizer and pasta are both creamy and tasty. The steak combination were already good but slightly hard. Just wondering of why the recommendation of the steak to be prepared as medium when it should be best on medium rare).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. The price for lunch set is quite reasonable and big portion. You won't get such good price if you were to dine here for dinner. 3-course lunch set at MYR78.00 and 4-course at MYR118.00. Subject to service charge of 10% and tax of 6%)

Grilled black Angus fillet with with cannellini beans, spring onion & beef jus.

The bread and olive condiments is quite tasty.

Japanese style teppanyaki dinner at Osaka Kitchen @ J'S Gate Dining, Lot 10 Kuala Lumpur

Osaka Kitchen located at in J'S Dining section on 4th floor of Lot 10 shopping centre in the heart of Bukit Bintang. They serve authentic Japanese style teppanyaki meal such as okonomiyaki, teppanyaki, yakisoba and grilled meat. The food were cooked on an iron griddle in from of diners. They have ala carte and course set meal. Choose set meal if you would like to try multiple items at cheaper price. This restaurant is quite famous as its the only restaurant in J'S Gate dining which has long queue. Plus the open kitchen concept is another attraction as you can see how fast those chefs are cooking your meal.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Food quality and taste is quite good and food preparation are done by two Japanese chefs. I like all the meal served. Salad were fresh with sesame dressing. I enjoy more of their grilled chicken dish compared to their grilled pork dish. The grilled chicken has more seasoning, softer, crispy skin and tender meat. The grilled avocado with melted cheese is awesome. Japanese omelette with chunks of pork belly is tasty as well. As for okonomiyaki is a bit lacking of ingredients as it only contains cabbage and batter. Dessert comes with 3 choices of vanilla, green tea and yuzu. The best choice would be yuzu as the taste is refreshing).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Price were quite reasonable as I ordered one chicken special course and one pork course set meal. Chicken special course at MYR51.00 and pork course at MYR42.00. Green tea at MYR6.00. The special course come with okonomiyaki, rice and soup).

I recommend to try this shop due to not many such good Japanese style teppanyaki restaurant around in Kuala Lumpur. And the price is quite reasonable.

Delicious Malay cuisine at De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan @ The LINC, Kuala Lumpur

Restaurant De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan is quite popular even though it just open its door about 3 weeks ago. Many would like to try the dishes of this popular celebrity chef which I watched his cooking programme on television during my secondary school days. The food served are authentic Malay cuisine with free flow of 3 types of rice. They have white, yellow and egg rice. I personally like their egg rice the most as its very tasty with lots of shallots and dried prawns.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. I like their peanut sauce chicken as the meat is tender and the rich and creamy peanut sauce flavour absorbed into the chicken, makes this dish quite good. The oxtail soup is tasty with strong aromatic of local spices flavour. The soup is thick and the broth is tasty with their rice. The daging rendang Selangor is good but its not that memorable. The meat still not tender enough and this type of rendang is a bit wet. Bubur som som dessert is very good if you like very sweet stuff. I personally like the dessert. But if you don't like sweet, I don't think you will like such super intense sweetness of gula Melaka).
Price:3/10(Expensive. Peanut sauce chicken at MYR32.00, oxtail soup at MYR33.00, daging rendang Selangor at MYR59.00, bubur som som dessert at MYR16.00 and rice at MYR7.00 per person).

I would recommend my fellow readers to try this restaurant if they would like to taste authentic Malay food and to enjoy the good ambiance of the restaurant plus probability of meetup with Chef Wan himself there.

Nice and elegant reception.

Oxtail soup. Aromatic and thick broth that goes very well with their rice.

Peanut sauce chicken and daging rendang Selangor.

This dish of peanut sauce chicken is outstanding.

I less enjoy this daging rendang Selangor as I expected something drier and more tender beef.

Yellow rice and egg rice with oxtail. Yummy.

The appetizer of fattah hummus that we ordered is unexpected large with lots of chickpea and tahini mixed with yogurt, garlic and fried bread. Taste quite unique but good).

Mr Chew 's Chino Latino Bar @ WOLO Kuala Lumpur

Mr Chew's Chino Latino bar located at the Penthouse of WOLO Kuala Lumpur. The place offers good fusion food and variety of cocktails. I just going to review about their lunch set which I had it recently. The decoration inside the restaurant is fantastic with nice portrait.

Taste:8/10(Good. The lunch set food overall is good but not outstanding. Food presentation were good. The fried fish is a bit dry in the sweet fish bun and the taste is mostly enhanced by mayonnaise. The steamed bun however were perfect as its soft and light. The Yuzukosho tamarind chicken main dish was slightly overcooked and caused the meat to be a bit harder. Taste wise, the chicken is good. I like the dessert of lychee, mango and panna cotta. The dessert mixture taste were well executed and refreshing).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. The lunch set plus dessert here will cost you MYR60.00. Their dessert however is optional. If you just want the appetizer and main without dessert, its at MYR45.00).

I would recommend you to come here if you would like to try decent fusion food and enjoy the nice fancy restaurant ambiance.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. The paella here is the best that I tasted in Kuala Lumpur. The Valencian Paella is so rich with seafood flavour and packed generously with thick tender pieces of squid, chicken, prawn and mussels. The Pimientos padron pepper tapas were delicious as well. Smoked beef ham of Cecina were great as well. The octopus and the huevos rotos were just normal. Chocolate caramel churros were great but the catalana cream were just normal).

Ching Han Guan biscuit @ Lot 10 Kuala Lumpur

Ching Han Guan (CHG) biscuit from Ipoh has been around since 1949. Recently, they have a store in Lot 10 selling their products. They are famous for their meat floss lotus paste biscuit. The KL store in Lot 10 is convenient for those who like the traditional biscuit but save the hassle to travel to Ipoh to get it.

Taste:6/10(Moderate. The lotus paste already covered the savory taste of meat floss and the lotus paste is too sweet. Basically you can't taste much of the meat floss flavour).

Bread Talk has join the craze to create everything with salted egg. They have introduced salted egg croissant. Wondering whether this kind of craze is a health disaster especially high sodium and cholesterol content in salted egg.

Taste:8/10(Good. The taste of the salted egg croissant is quite good but lacking the flow or melt in your mouth factor. I brought 1 piece but the lava does not flow like as shown in the picture :-P ).

Dinner at Thirty8 @ Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

Came here for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. He wanted to try out the THIRTY8 signature cake. At first, I was a bit skeptical on the selection of the cake. However, after tried on it, the cake was indeed very good. The chocolate used is of high quality just like the type used to make Godiva and Royce chocolate. Smooth and rich.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. We ordered beef burger, sushi platter and the signature dessert. All the food were good but special mention to the dessert. Sushi platter were fresh with 11 pieces of premium sushi including toro, horse mackerel, flounder and sea urchin. However, the sea urchin is a bitter type which is not from Japan).
