French dining at Topshelf @ Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

Topshelf is a French restaurant located in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. Always wanted to try out this place but don't have chance until the Christmas eve night when I happen to be there with my mom. The food were good and some dishes above expectation. This is a nice and cosy restaurant. You can see the chef in action as the kitchen just behind a glass wall.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. I like two of their dishes the most. The pan seared salmon belly and mushroom soup with truffle. Both are well done and taste very good. As for the crispy aromatic duck, its not that crispy but the meat is tender. Taste wise is good with combination with the sauce and vegetables. The dessert of dark chocolate mousse is creative and well thought).
Price:3/10(Expensive. Since this is a fine dining restaurant, the price is at a higher side. Salmon belly at MYR30.00, mushroom soup with truffle at MYR25.00, pan seared catch of the day at MYR44.00, dark chocolate mousse at MYR26.00 and crispy aromatic duck at MYR38.00. Service and environment in the restaurant is good. One item which I think that they need to improve is that they don't provide plain water as drink option. They trying to lure their customer to drink their pricey mineral water. Its a bit let down for foodie who come here for food and plain water is the most basic necessity that each restaurant should provide either for free or with a small fee. The food selection were not many during Christmas eve as they have predefined set menu).

This is my first meal in Las Vegas after long flight from Seoul. Since I am staying just beside the Bellagio resort, there are plenty of opportunity for photography and food hunting. Mon Ami Gabi provides both good food and outside tables that overlook the Las Vegas Strip. They are proud to be known as charming French bistro highlighting classics such as steak frites & onion soup, plus patio dining. They are famous for their steak dish. Delicious fusion dinner at Sion Dining & Bar @ Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya

Sion Dining and Bar located on upper floor of a shop lot in Ara Damansara. This is a stylish restaurant suitable for couples, anniversary or birthday event as the environment is quite romantic. The restaurant also have long counter seating lined with wine glasses. They have a huge selection of wine which you can select from their wine cellar. For those who prefer beer, they also have varieties of beer from local, Japanese or German beer. Their menu is quite unique offering fusion food between Japanese, French and Spanish. Most of the food here contains cheese. If you are a cheese lover, you will like this place. The owner of this restaurant seems like Marilyn Monroe so much as her pictures are everywhere in the restaurant. This restaurant is quite popular among the Japanese expatriates who are working around Subang area.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. I like their ering mushroom with butter sauce which is delicious. The mushroom cooked with delicious butter sauce with slight saltiness and cheesy taste. Then it was topped with shiso leaves which complements the mushroom flavour. Their Iberico pork hamburger were good as well. The meat was tender and juicy).
Price:3/10(Expensive. They have house wine pour of MYR25.00 per glass. I ordered Iberico pork hamburger at MYR36.00 and pan fried ering mushroom with butter sauce at MYR23.00).

Three Michelin star dinner at Le Bernardin Restaurant @ New York, USA

I went there for dinner to try out their famous meal. Eating in their main dining room is too much hassle that they need a blazer or dress in suit. Main dining room also requires reservation far ahead of time. Since my time in New York is limited, I choose to have their lounge menu instead. With the hype surrounding this restaurant, I expect the food to be among the best. However, not all the items that I ordered was excellent. I really coming here to be impressed but somehow they have not met my expectation. The restaurant atmosphere and the main dining room was grand and nice.

Taste:8/10(Good. The restaurant were nice and food were good but it's not outstanding which I think a 3 Michelin star restaurant should have. I have tasted other one Michelin star restaurants which served much tastier food. Service were great and very formal. I was very satisfied with the warm lobster with truffle. The dish were excellent and taste great. The Le Bernardin salmon rillette were quite normal. Nothing to shout about the oyster as its come in its natural form which was barely touched. I liked the hazelnut praline as the chocolate were rich and good praline flavour).
Price:1/10(Very expensive. Oyster priced at USD4.00 per piece, salmon rillette at USD22.00, lobster with truffle "en brioche" at USD27.00 and hazelnut praline at USD22.00. Total bill exclude tax and tips were USD83.00).

Highly rated Le Bernardin of New York. Often quoted as the top restaurant in New York.

Bread and butter. Not impressive.

Oyster of East coast and West coast varieties. Served with vinaigrette.

Le Bernardin's salmon rillette with toast. This meal was not impressive. The salmon rillette is almost like canned salmon bread spread.

Salmon rillette spread on toast.

Warm lobster and truffle "en Brioche". This is the best meal of this dinner.

Hazelnut Praline - flourless hazelnut cake, Gianduja mousse, orange curd and Praline ice-cream.

Environment inside Le Bernardin, New York.

My ticket to store my items at reception.
