Zhou's meat congee @ Wanhua, Taipei

This restaurant sells very simple meal and they have been operating since 1956. They have the best meat congee I ever had. Besides congee, they also have very good crispy fried pork.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Great congee and crispy fried pork. I had two bowls of the congee).
Price:7/10(Moderate. The congee only cost TWD30 ~ MYR3.30 ~ USD1.10 while the meat at TWD40 for small plate).



The congee is claimed to contain bone marrow soup, meat, dried tofu, small dried prawn and shallots. From the look, it is just a brownish hue congee but its is very tasty with aroma of shallots.

The crispy deep fried pork is amazingly delicious. I suspect the meat marinated with Chinese red wine yeast before mixed with batter for deep fry. The result is tasty and juicy pork.


The pork cheek is tender and good.
