Great food and drink at The Locker & Loft @ Damansara Kim, Petaling Jaya

The Locker and Loft is a hidden bar which may take some time for the unfamiliar to find it as it is located behind lockers on the first floor of no signboard shophouse in Damansara Kim. That's the fun of locating speakeasy bar. The internal of the bar looks interesting with exposed metal pipes and copper bars. The main attraction here are their food and innovative cocktail using a lot of local ingredients. Example I do like their Kaya Mon which is their kaya based cocktail with coconut water, Cuban dark rum, gula melaka and santan. Since I like sweet cocktail this will be my preference. The other local ingredients used in their cocktail are homemade pandan syrup, jackfruit and coconut milk. Even though this place is known for drink, but their food are quite good and creative as well. I do like their mutton varuval quesadillas, Commondo sausages and braised pork belly rendang mantou.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. The food here are mostly bar bites but they do have main meal as well. I like their spicy mutton varuval quesadillas. Fragrant with spices makes the quesadillas very good. As for drink, I like their kaya mon the most as I like the sweetness and kaya taste of the drink with alcoholic feel).
Price:6/10(Moderate. The food and cocktail here are priced reasonably. Cocktail price start from MYR22.00 and they do have food priced below below MYR15.00. The signature drink here is Kelapa rock at MYR22.00. Others: Kaya mon at MYR27.00, Tuak Sangria at MYR32.00, Escobar at MYR45.00, Jacked-up at MYR30.00 and honey dew cocktail at MYR25.00. As for main, they have pork chop at MYR24.50, chicken chop at MYR25.50, spicy sweet chicken wings at MYR16.50 and pan seared tilapia at MYR27.50).

Decent Japanese sushi @ Sushi Azabu, 4th Floor, Isetan The Japan Store, Kuala Lumpur

Sushi Azabu just opened recently a few months ago and this add another decent place to have your favourite authentic Japanese sushi in Kuala Lumpur. The sushi here is well done with all the necessary ingredient on the sushi already add it for you. The recommended set here is of course their omakase set but of course will burn a big hole in your wallet. The sushi here are fresh and you can see the chef action of preparing your sushi as it a wide open concept type of kitchen bar.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Fresh sushi with the right balance of taste as the chef know what to put and have the right temperature of the sushi. The rice for the sushi had the perfect consistency. The taste is almost like from the sushi that you get from Tsukiji market in Tokyo).
Price: 3/10(Expensive. I ordered the Koi course with an appetizer, 8 pieces of nigiri sushi and miso soup at MYR120.00. Also ordered their 3 kinds of sashimi with tuna, grouper and salmon at MYR52.00. Omakase meal here will cost you MYR420.00. Its worth it if you are thinking of trying similar calibre type of sushi as in Tsukiji market in Tokyo).
