Japanese style teppanyaki dinner at Osaka Kitchen @ J'S Gate Dining, Lot 10 Kuala Lumpur

Osaka Kitchen located at in J'S Dining section on 4th floor of Lot 10 shopping centre in the heart of Bukit Bintang. They serve authentic Japanese style teppanyaki meal such as okonomiyaki, teppanyaki, yakisoba and grilled meat. The food were cooked on an iron griddle in from of diners. They have ala carte and course set meal. Choose set meal if you would like to try multiple items at cheaper price. This restaurant is quite famous as its the only restaurant in J'S Gate dining which has long queue. Plus the open kitchen concept is another attraction as you can see how fast those chefs are cooking your meal.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Food quality and taste is quite good and food preparation are done by two Japanese chefs. I like all the meal served. Salad were fresh with sesame dressing. I enjoy more of their grilled chicken dish compared to their grilled pork dish. The grilled chicken has more seasoning, softer, crispy skin and tender meat. The grilled avocado with melted cheese is awesome. Japanese omelette with chunks of pork belly is tasty as well. As for okonomiyaki is a bit lacking of ingredients as it only contains cabbage and batter. Dessert comes with 3 choices of vanilla, green tea and yuzu. The best choice would be yuzu as the taste is refreshing).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Price were quite reasonable as I ordered one chicken special course and one pork course set meal. Chicken special course at MYR51.00 and pork course at MYR42.00. Green tea at MYR6.00. The special course come with okonomiyaki, rice and soup).

I recommend to try this shop due to not many such good Japanese style teppanyaki restaurant around in Kuala Lumpur. And the price is quite reasonable.

Dinner at Thirty8 @ Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

Came here for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. He wanted to try out the THIRTY8 signature cake. At first, I was a bit skeptical on the selection of the cake. However, after tried on it, the cake was indeed very good. The chocolate used is of high quality just like the type used to make Godiva and Royce chocolate. Smooth and rich.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. We ordered beef burger, sushi platter and the signature dessert. All the food were good but special mention to the dessert. Sushi platter were fresh with 11 pieces of premium sushi including toro, horse mackerel, flounder and sea urchin. However, the sea urchin is a bitter type which is not from Japan).
Price:3/10(Expensive. This is a fine dining restaurant with great view of Petronas Twin Towers. Price is expensive here with sushi platter at MYR165, signature cake at MYR60.00 and burger at MYR55.00).

Decent Japanese sushi @ Sushi Azabu, 4th Floor, Isetan The Japan Store, Kuala Lumpur

Sushi Azabu just opened recently a few months ago and this add another decent place to have your favourite authentic Japanese sushi in Kuala Lumpur. The sushi here is well done with all the necessary ingredient on the sushi already add it for you. The recommended set here is of course their omakase set but of course will burn a big hole in your wallet. The sushi here are fresh and you can see the chef action of preparing your sushi as it a wide open concept type of kitchen bar.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Fresh sushi with the right balance of taste as the chef know what to put and have the right temperature of the sushi. The rice for the sushi had the perfect consistency. The taste is almost like from the sushi that you get from Tsukiji market in Tokyo).
Price: 3/10(Expensive. I ordered the Koi course with an appetizer, 8 pieces of nigiri sushi and miso soup at MYR120.00. Also ordered their 3 kinds of sashimi with tuna, grouper and salmon at MYR52.00. Omakase meal here will cost you MYR420.00. Its worth it if you are thinking of trying similar calibre type of sushi as in Tsukiji market in Tokyo).

Awesome Hokkaido Pork Don @ Senya Izakaya, Publika, Kuala Lumpur

This is a Japanese restaurant with an authentic izakaya feel and a huge menu selection. The location is at the end of a secluded corner of Solaris Dutamas. The restaurant has colourful lights and lively decor. I get a seat in front grilling area which I can watch all the cooking action. The Hokkaido pork rice is a must try dish here. Since here is izakaya, its wise if you order more of their grill stuff here since this is their specialities.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Hokkaido pork don is their speciality and its delicious. However, this dish is so sinful. Almost half portion of pork is burned fatty part. The taste of this dish really enhanced with the spiciness and garlic flavour).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. For Japanese izakaya restaurant, the price here is quite reasonable with the quality and the food that they serve. They have huge variety of food and Japanese wines to choose from. Hokkaido pork don at MYR24.80, kokuto umeshu on the rock at MYR16.00, pork belly with mushroom at MYR6.80, shime saba sushi at MYR14.50, pork belly with lady finger at MYR6.80 and oden konnyaku at MYR5.00).
