Boat Noodles - Trendy but so-so noodles @ Klang Parade

Boat Noodles finally arrived in Klang with its outlet in Klang Parade. I have heard and read about it about their crazy queues on other outlets. However, the outlet in Klang Parade no queue at all and during lunch or dinner time, the restaurant is just full and have enough seat for everyone. Boat Noodles is currently trending probably due to their unique small serving size of noodles. The noodles dish originates from Thailand. The service were small and looks interesting. Their price of MYR1.90 per bowl serving does attract the crowd who wanted to know how the noodles taste like.

Taste:5/10(So-so. The noodles soaked in sourish broth with a small portion of beef. The broth does have beef flavour and slight spicy as well. The taste somehow does not blend well with the sourish taste of the broth with the rice noodles and the noodles is salty too).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Pricing wise is MYR1.90 per bowl. However the portion is quite small and you may need to order at least 5 to 8 bowls in order to satisfy your hunger. Eventually it may cost at least MYR15.00 plus drink to dine here).


Ordered of first two serving of Pathumthani & Ayutthaya beef rice noodles. Ayutthaya on the left while Pathumthani on the right.

Pathumthani beef noodles with small chunk of beef and vegetables. Sourish with spicy flavour. The sauce is derived from dark soy sauce. Not that spicy.

Ayutthaya beef noodles has thicker broth. More flavour and creamy compared to Pathumthani broth.

Chicken rice noodles.

Completed 8 bowls. I personally does not like this concept as its not environmentally friendly. The worker need to clean so many bowls as the amount of noodles in each bowl is so small. This also increase the labour cost to clean all these bowls.

Boat Noodles trendy also due to their heavy presence in social media and have strong follower among the community.

Delicious cream puff sticks from Zaku Zaku @ Lumine, Shinjuku

Tokyo now have a newest snack obsession which is croquant chou. You can get this from Zaku Zaku located in Lumine Shinjuku. They makes the tasty cream puff on the spot. The cream puff shape is unique shape which is long, crispy sticks that are loaded with a creamy filling. Zaku Zaku means "crunchy" as it is coated in almond. The shop have a long people lining up to show how popular they are and this is a special dessert from Hokkaido. Ordinary cream puff are easy to find in Japan at chain shop like Beard Papa or in the convenience stores. But cream sticks are quite rare.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. The cream inside the cream stick were smooth, creamy, melt in your mouth and not too sweet. The cream were fresh and they recommend to eat it within the same day).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. One stick of cream puff at 220 Yen. If you buy 6, its 1,200 Yen).

Ritter Sport Chocolate from Germany

Ritter Sport is my most favourite chocolate as the sweet level suit my taste. I like the quality and fine chocolate taste. Surprisingly, with such quality chocolate, the price of Ritter Sport chocolate are reasonable and if you were in overseas, you can get a piece of 100 gramme for 1 Euro. So far I like rum raisin flavour the most but this flavour are not available elsewhere other than in Germany. Second best flavour would be praline.


Variety of Ritter Sport chocolate brought from Frankfurt, Germany. There is a piece of Milka hazelnut chocolate that I brought which taste good as well. From all the Ritter Sport flavour, I like the rum raisin the most. However, I am not able to get it else where so far. Ritter Sport chocolate flavour from top left: rum raisin, praline, chocolate mousse, marzipan and whole hazelnut.

Marion Crepes @ Harajuku, Tokyo

Marion Crepes is the most famous of all crepe shop in Japan. Started as a food truck in 1976, now it has a permanent location in Harajuku's Takeshita-dori. When talking about food, Marion Crepes always come out in mind. They have more than 50 variation of crepes which you can try out. We tried out their most famous crepe which is "Banana chocolate fresh cream" which contains home-made custard.

Taste:8/10(Delicious. On the first bite, you know this crepe is different. The fresh cream is extremely light and fresh taste of banana. The texture is smooth and the sweet level is just perfect).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The price of the crepes around 500 Yen each. The price is slightly expensive for a dessert).


Wow, their most expensive crepe variation. Mega Marion at 1000 Yen. Contains whipped cream, chocolate ice-cream, vanila ice-cream, brownie, cheese cake, chocolate sauce, banana, almond and pie. So much ingredient!

Gartien Pineapple Cake from Penang and Mid Autumn Festival Promotion

Gartien is located just right opposite of Komtar and easily accessible via Jalan Burma. The new HQ is located next to Kek Seng Coffee Shop. What is so special about Gartien pineapple cake? Gartien version of pineapple cake is rolled up in a rectangular pillow of buttery pastry dough encasing pineapple filling. Everything here is natural and the filling in this pineapple cake is 100% freshly harvested pineapple that has been purposely cut into bite size chunks rather than machine mashed pineapple. At Gartien, the pineapples are hand cut into smaller pieces which is a time consuming process but needed to retain its distinctive texture and taste. They are cooked for 12 hours until they turn into luxurious golden brown. Then the shortbread pastry which is made from pure butter wrap over generous portion of the pineapple fillings and lastly baked to perfection. Who said we don't have great made in Malaysia pineapple cake? Now you can get it from Penang rather than from Taiwan. Gartien only use all natural ingredients(flour, pure butter, egg, milk powder, raw sugar, honey and cooked fresh pineapple) and without preservative or artificial flavoring. Therefore the cake can only be kept for about 28 days in the packaging.

Taste:8/10(Good. The pineapple texture were good with chunky pineapple fillings and not too sweet. A healthy snack option as pineapple contains high minerals and fiber).

Penang is a bit far for me to travel to buy the Pineapple cake. Its great that they have fast delivery service within Peninsular Malaysia. You can order via phone or online.

Gartien pineapple cake were baked to golden brown colour with soft and buttery flavour.

Pineapple cake texture. Recommended to have this with tea or coffee. Because the ingredients are all natural, the filling is very fresh and you can really chew on the little chunks of pineapples.

The pineapple were cooked for 12 hours to give the perfect golden brown colour.

What's great about this pineapple cake is the taste is not overly sweet. Suitable as gift for the elderly too.

This year mid autumn festival packaging is using purple colour concept.

Do bring your parking ticket to the shop to entitle free parking.
