Lunch set at Marble 8 @ KLCC

Marble 8 is a fine dining restaurant that you can't go on your own without escort :-). In order to access level 56 of Menara 3 Petronas, the restaurant staff will escort you thru the 2 lifts and need to pass by a security check. Marble 8 restaurant interior were quite elegant black. I choose their 4 course meal lunch set which includes an appetizer, pasta, main course and dessert. The pasta portion itself is quite huge and filling.

Taste:8/10(Good. Special mention to their crispy bread as it is very good. The appetizer and pasta are both creamy and tasty. The steak combination were already good but slightly hard. Just wondering of why the recommendation of the steak to be prepared as medium when it should be best on medium rare).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. The price for lunch set is quite reasonable and big portion. You won't get such good price if you were to dine here for dinner. 3-course lunch set at MYR78.00 and 4-course at MYR118.00. Subject to service charge of 10% and tax of 6%)

Grilled black Angus fillet with with cannellini beans, spring onion & beef jus.

The bread and olive condiments is quite tasty.

Dining cutlery.

Burrata cheese with Japanese momotaro tomatoes & asparagus salad.

Tagliatelle with Wagyu bolognese.

Delicious Malay cuisine at De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan @ The LINC, Kuala Lumpur

Restaurant De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan is quite popular even though it just open its door about 3 weeks ago. Many would like to try the dishes of this popular celebrity chef which I watched his cooking programme on television during my secondary school days. The food served are authentic Malay cuisine with free flow of 3 types of rice. They have white, yellow and egg rice. I personally like their egg rice the most as its very tasty with lots of shallots and dried prawns.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. I like their peanut sauce chicken as the meat is tender and the rich and creamy peanut sauce flavour absorbed into the chicken, makes this dish quite good. The oxtail soup is tasty with strong aromatic of local spices flavour. The soup is thick and the broth is tasty with their rice. The daging rendang Selangor is good but its not that memorable. The meat still not tender enough and this type of rendang is a bit wet. Bubur som som dessert is very good if you like very sweet stuff. I personally like the dessert. But if you don't like sweet, I don't think you will like such super intense sweetness of gula Melaka).
Price:3/10(Expensive. Peanut sauce chicken at MYR32.00, oxtail soup at MYR33.00, daging rendang Selangor at MYR59.00, bubur som som dessert at MYR16.00 and rice at MYR7.00 per person).

I would recommend my fellow readers to try this restaurant if they would like to taste authentic Malay food and to enjoy the good ambiance of the restaurant plus probability of meetup with Chef Wan himself there.

Nice and elegant reception.

Oxtail soup. Aromatic and thick broth that goes very well with their rice.

Peanut sauce chicken and daging rendang Selangor.

This dish of peanut sauce chicken is outstanding.

I less enjoy this daging rendang Selangor as I expected something drier and more tender beef.

Yellow rice and egg rice with oxtail. Yummy.

Yung Kee beef noodles @ Pudu, Kuala Lumpur

Probably the best Hong Kong style beef noodles in Kuala Lumpur.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Satisfied with the meals here. So far they seems to serve the best beef noodles in KL. Portion were good. I tried both version of soup and dry beef noodles and found that dry version taste better. Also their dry version with peanuts which makes the noodles taste better. The meat is soft. The tendon is good and normal beef noodles bowl came with beef balls & tripes. I order extra honeycomb which is very tender and taste good in beef broth. You also have option to add crispy fish skin for tastier option).
Price:6/10(Reasonable. The price depends on what you order. Of course if you are on budget, they have the normal beef noodles price at MYR9 to MYR13. If you like to have luxury kind of beef noodles, they also have A5 Kobe beef noodles at MYR200. For me, I just want to spend a bit more to have their honeycomb which is quite rare in KL).

Beef noodles soup version with everything. Meat, tendon, beef balls and tripe.

Beef honey comb. Quite rare and hard to have it from beef noodles shop in KL.

Decent pizza at Mikey's New York Pizza @ Citta Mall, Ara Damansara

Citta Mall has a new restaurant to have good pizza. They provide a nice variety of various toppings, many of which combine some interesting flavours. The Mexican beef provides a flavourful pizza experience and the 911 will satisfy those who crave a super spicy pizza. Vegetarian may like their wild mushroom pizza. This place not only serve pizza but you can also have waffle fries, spicy buffalo chicken and pasta.

Taste:8/10(Good. The taste of the pizza is almost comparable to what I had overseas. This is what a good pizza supposed to be. I tried their beef loco mexicano and it taste good and spicy. Do try out the waffle fries as they are good as well).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. A slice of pizza cost from MYR9.95 to MYR17.88 depends on the flavour that you choose. Although its pricey, the quality and taste is there to justify for its price).

Mikey's spiciest pizza. The 9-1-1 pizza. I haven't try yet but look at the amount of chili padi in there.

Mama's wild mushroom pizza. Looks good. Going to try this next round.

This is their special pizza of the day with chicken.

Decent New Zealand beef noodles from Gyuniku Signature @ Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

Its has been long time I never step into my unknown territory of Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. Comedy show does encourage me to explore for food in this area while I waiting for showtime. I found this beef noodles shop which is quite interesting as they serve beef noodles using beef from New Zealand. The shop has been there for a few years but I only discovered it recently. Without thinking too much, as usual I will take the shop signature dish which is their mixed kuey teow soup special with beef balls, ox tongue, tripe, brisket, sliced beef, shank and tendon. Best of all, the bowl contains all the goodness from cow.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. The beef is tender and flavourful. The soup is natural taste and can feel its homemade. The chili sauce makes the beef taste even better).
Price:6/10(Moderate. The price of the beef noodles here is slightly more expensive if you compared to somewhere else. A bowl of signature kuey teow soup at MYR18.00. However, they are using good quality imported beef and taste good).

Delicious beef noodles with mixture of beef parts.

The sauce which comes with the noodles taste great.

Old fashion type of shop interior. Its still empty as I came early.

Hong Kong Food Culture @ Lowyat Plaza, Kuala Lumpur

Hong Kong Food Culture located at lower ground floor of Lowyat Plaza serve reasonable priced Hong Kong style food in the city centre. Its tough to find authentic Hong Kong style food in Kuala Lumpur. This restaurant could be closest to what you can get in Hong Kong. The restaurant is quite old. If I not mistaken that they have been operating there for more than 10 years. So don't expect fancy kind of environment in the restaurant. The interior really looks like those char chan teng in those Hong Kong drama.

Taste:8/10(Good. I ordered their dinner set of hor yip fan - lotus leaf glutinous rice with pork and other good condiments. I didn't expect much but the meal turn out to be good. The glutinous rice contains a lot of ingredients such as chinese sausage, dried prawn, scallop, salted egg, lard and mushroom. The dinner set come with a plate of simple but good boiled spinach with fermented bean curd and a cup of herbal tea. Ordered their beef meat noodles which is good as well.
