Japanese style teppanyaki dinner at Osaka Kitchen @ J'S Gate Dining, Lot 10 Kuala Lumpur

Osaka Kitchen located at in J'S Dining section on 4th floor of Lot 10 shopping centre in the heart of Bukit Bintang. They serve authentic Japanese style teppanyaki meal such as okonomiyaki, teppanyaki, yakisoba and grilled meat. The food were cooked on an iron griddle in from of diners. They have ala carte and course set meal. Choose set meal if you would like to try multiple items at cheaper price. This restaurant is quite famous as its the only restaurant in J'S Gate dining which has long queue. Plus the open kitchen concept is another attraction as you can see how fast those chefs are cooking your meal.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Food quality and taste is quite good and food preparation are done by two Japanese chefs. I like all the meal served. Salad were fresh with sesame dressing. I enjoy more of their grilled chicken dish compared to their grilled pork dish. The grilled chicken has more seasoning, softer, crispy skin and tender meat. The grilled avocado with melted cheese is awesome. Japanese omelette with chunks of pork belly is tasty as well. As for okonomiyaki is a bit lacking of ingredients as it only contains cabbage and batter. Dessert comes with 3 choices of vanilla, green tea and yuzu. The best choice would be yuzu as the taste is refreshing).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Price were quite reasonable as I ordered one chicken special course and one pork course set meal. Chicken special course at MYR51.00 and pork course at MYR42.00. Green tea at MYR6.00. The special course come with okonomiyaki, rice and soup).

I recommend to try this shop due to not many such good Japanese style teppanyaki restaurant around in Kuala Lumpur. And the price is quite reasonable.

Mr Chew 's Chino Latino Bar @ WOLO Kuala Lumpur

Mr Chew's Chino Latino bar located at the Penthouse of WOLO Kuala Lumpur. The place offers good fusion food and variety of cocktails. I just going to review about their lunch set which I had it recently. The decoration inside the restaurant is fantastic with nice portrait.

Taste:8/10(Good. The lunch set food overall is good but not outstanding. Food presentation were good. The fried fish is a bit dry in the sweet fish bun and the taste is mostly enhanced by mayonnaise. The steamed bun however were perfect as its soft and light. The Yuzukosho tamarind chicken main dish was slightly overcooked and caused the meat to be a bit harder. Taste wise, the chicken is good. I like the dessert of lychee, mango and panna cotta. The dessert mixture taste were well executed and refreshing).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. The lunch set plus dessert here will cost you MYR60.00. Their dessert however is optional. If you just want the appetizer and main without dessert, its at MYR45.00).

I would recommend you to come here if you would like to try decent fusion food and enjoy the nice fancy restaurant ambiance.

Chicken mushroom pie at A Pie Thing @ Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya

A Pie Thing has been around for quite a while in Damansara Uptown serving good decent pie. You can have their savory or sweet pie. The good pie here is their chicken mushroom or mutton pie. The cafe environment at this place makes it good place for meet up and discussion or just to chill.

Taste:8/10(Good. I satisfied with the taste of the chicken mushroom pie here however I think they can still improve on the taste of the crust).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. The pie basic pie here with gravy cost MYR13.50).

Chicken mushroom pie with gravy. The filling were moist and tasty but the crust needs improvement as not much flavour on it.

Some of their savory pies.

You have the options to add mushy peas or mash potatoes as toppings.

Delicious nasi lemak burger from myBurgerLab @ Sunway - SamsungPay redemption

myBurgerLab was inspired by the success of a few famous burger joint overseas such as ShakeShack (US), In-N-Out (US), Grill’d (Australia) and GBK (UK). They have done it well and invented many kinds of creative burger flavours that is delicious and with quality ingredients. When the food is good, people don't mind to pay slightly premium for it. The nasi lemak burger that I tried has all the necessary ingredients that a good burger should have. I know the burger is oily, messy and huge, but that is what a good burger should have.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. The nasi lemak burger does taste great. The fried chicken were crispy and juicy. Together with crushed anchovies and peanut butter a good combination. The burger not overly spicy and sambal chicken rendang were fragrant from the first bite).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The nasi lemak burger priced at MYR18.80. Its not cheap for a burger but the ingredients and quality is awesome. I use my SamsungPay 550 points to redeem the burger so free dinner for me).

Nasi lemak burger with signature black bun. Rendang Sauce combined with pickles, topped with peanut butter, sambal, sunny side egg, chopped anchovies and a huge chunk of crispy crunchy Thai style fried chicken.

Decent pizza at Mikey's New York Pizza @ Citta Mall, Ara Damansara

Citta Mall has a new restaurant to have good pizza. They provide a nice variety of various toppings, many of which combine some interesting flavours. The Mexican beef provides a flavourful pizza experience and the 911 will satisfy those who crave a super spicy pizza. Vegetarian may like their wild mushroom pizza. This place not only serve pizza but you can also have waffle fries, spicy buffalo chicken and pasta.

Taste:8/10(Good. The taste of the pizza is almost comparable to what I had overseas. This is what a good pizza supposed to be. I tried their beef loco mexicano and it taste good and spicy. Do try out the waffle fries as they are good as well).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. A slice of pizza cost from MYR9.95 to MYR17.88 depends on the flavour that you choose. Although its pricey, the quality and taste is there to justify for its price).

Mikey's spiciest pizza. The 9-1-1 pizza. I haven't try yet but look at the amount of chili padi in there.

Mama's wild mushroom pizza. Looks good. Going to try this next round.

This is their special pizza of the day with chicken.

Rock Chop food delivery

Rock Chop is a new food delivery option in Klang Valley. I am among their first customer to try out this food option. Rock Chop is actually a budget option of dahmakan. Its a bit hard for dahmakan to drop their price since they have probably sold many food packages and its better for them to cater for more premium market segment. The new Rock Chop food quality however, is not up to my expectation. The price is slightly lower about RM15 which is RM6 less, but the food options are mostly fried, less healthy and lesser quality when compared to dahmakan. The food options are not interesting and can be easily get from the economical rice stalls. The options that they have are salted butter chicken, kung pao chicken, sweet & sour chicken, orange chicken and cashew chicken.

Taste:5/10(So-so. The salted butter chicken ordered were soggy and oily. Cheese cake were watery at the bottom. Taste rather normal and nothing to shout about).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The quality of food is under expectation. For RM15 meal, the food quality is far lesser when compared to dahmakan. Most of the menu are fried which I doubt the freshness of the ingredients used. No vegetable option from the menu is also a drawback. Quantity wise is good).

Ordered Rock Chop salted butter chicken. Simpler packaging compared to dahmakan.

Presentation wise is ok. I do like the bigger rice portion.

Chicken however a bit soggy and taste normal.

Come with free cheese cake which is watery at the bottom.

dahmakan food delivery - easy lunch option

Food delivery option has become a norm in the Klang Valley area due to busy schedule of office workers and demand of healthier food options. The main selling points of DahMakan is on using fresh local sourced ingredients, tasty dishes, convenience of ordering via web or apps and delivery up to your doorstep. Indeed they have talented chefs preparing the food as well which adds creativity to the meals created and taste good.

Taste:8/10(Delicious. I like the taste and the quality of the food items that I ordered so far. It's something different to have it once in a while. For example the Moroccan were cooked in a lot of tomatoes which makes the chicken tender, taste good and healthier option as without coconut milk).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The quality and the food serving portion were good. However, spending over MYR20.00 for lunch is quite high for everyday consumption. Would suggest that DahMakan don't provide very fancy packaging and high quality spoon/fork to reduce the cost. Anyway, we are going towards green environment. High quality spoon and fork should be as add on item).

Red colour box.

First time ordered dahmakan. Chef's healthy chicken rendang. I am quite satisfied with the portion and the chicken rendang are tasty. Indeed a tummy full meal. Enjoyed MYR8.00 off as first time order.

Blue colour box.

This is fish meal with couscous grain. Harissa crusted perch. Enjoyed MYR5.00 off from Grab Taxi discount code.

Yellow colour box.

Moroccan chicken with vegetables. The Moroccan chicken cooked with tomatoes does indeed delicious. I quite like the taste. Healthy option without coconut milk.

Download DahMakan apps via Google Play/Apple Store. Order the food from the apps and you can either pay upfront by credit card/direct debit/PayPal or by cash when the food delivered to you. Also available for booking via DahMakan website.

Good roasted chicken at Dave's Deli @ Subang Parade, Subang Jaya

Dave's Deli is famous for their original quarter roast chicken. They also have slow cooked beef ribs, pasta meals, gourmet pies and grilled fish. As usual, I will always order the restaurant signature dish or they best for.

Taste:8/10(Good. I do recommend to order their quarter chicken set. The gravy taste good and sides are great as well).

Fusion food @ Good Friends Restaurant and Cafe, Subang Jaya

Good Friends Restaurant and Cafe located in Subang Jaya is a fusion eating place serving extensive menu from East to West. Good homely environment to have a decent conversation. They have seafood, chicken, pasta and grilled dishes as well. For coffee lover and beer drinker, this place is suitable for you as well. They have around a dozen options for imported craft beer. The menu were updated frequently and creatively designed fusion food.

Taste:8/10(Good. Chili cream mussels were good and the slight spicy sauce makes the dish taste well. Creamy mushroom tapas is a must order as the mushroom taste good and punched with flavour. Their chicken teriyaki with soba noodles is good just slightly salty. I guess due to the soy sauce. As for the nasi lemak, their sambal were not good enough and can be improved. Grill master taste rather normal and the sauce need to be improved).

2-course lunch meal at Trevi @ Caesar Palace, Las Vegas, USA

This place is for you if you like to watch people as it located just beside fountain in The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Food is average but service is good. Tried this restaurant as I attracted to their 2-course meal set which is rather reasonable for Las Vegas Strip.

Taste:7/10(Moderate. Their signature dish frutti di Mare although with good ingredients but taste rather bland. The Trevi salad is too sourish and chicken parmigiana is good. Pizza is quite normal).
