Delicious Japanese dinner at Jyu Raku @ Subang Jaya

It has been a while that I didn't treat myself with good Japanese meal. Since its Tuesday night, I might as well head straight to Subang Jaya SS15 for a good Japanese dinner. I did tried Jyu Raku previously and I do like their quality of their food especially their dinner sets which comes with sushi. Their sushi were good as the portion of fish meat always cover the rice. This makes their sushi similar to the experience you had it in Japan.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Great sushi with generous portion of sashimi. Oysters were very fresh and tasty. Appetizer given were delicious. Udon noodles was succulent and tasty).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. Twin oyster at MYR24, udon and sushi set at MYR38 and toro sushi at MYR6.00 each. There are 10% service charge and 6% GST).

Very fresh toro tuna.

Kitchen area of Jyu Raku.

Complimentary appetizer.

Delicious fresh oysters. The size was huge. Compliment with lemon, soy sauce and Tabasco sauce. The presentation of the oysters were great.

Fresh and tasty oyster.

My sushi and udon set. The set also comes with salad, fruits and chawanmushi.

Fresh sushi. Consist of toro tuna, amber jack, tamago and salmon.

Udon and salad.

My style of eating sashimi type of sushi. Lots of wasabi.

Korean food of Myung-Ga @ Taman Intan, Klang

Klang town is previously lacking a good Korean restaurant. But that has changed after Myung-Ga opened in Taman Intan, Klang back in year 2011.

Taste:8/10(Good. Good portion of Ban Chan which is small dishes accompany the main dishes. They are good especially kimchi and spinach. The bibimbap is good although its vegetarian. And I prefer their chicken ginseng soup to have more flavour as its a bit light for my liking. Chicken is soft and easily detached from bones. There is some rice at the bottom of the chicken ginseng soup).
Price:6/10(Moderate. What value for money here is that you can have unlimited refill of side orders-Ban Chan. We ordered their Bibimbap at MYR25.00 and chicken ginseng soup at MYR33.00).

Vegetarian bibimbap.

Bibimbap after everything is mixed.

Ginseng chicken also known as Samgyetang. A bit fusion to suit Malaysian taste.

Ban Chan from Myung-Ga. Myung Ga is not stingy in serving Ban chan as they are all refillable upon request. There are Kimchi, lotus root, potato salad, spinach, bean slice, cockles, peanuts with anchovies and brinjals.

One of the Ban Chan is cockles.

Drinking water provided.

My cheapest bibimbap meal in Seoul, South Korea

My cheapest meal in Korea I had is in Dongdaemun. The shop is located behind Heunginjimun known as "Great East Gate," and it was so named because it was the major eastern gate in the wall that surrounded Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty. The gate is located at Jongno 6-ga in Jongno-gu.

The shop which served this bibimbap is frequent by many workers after work.

Taste:6/10(Moderate. The food is just moderate and nothing to shout about. This bibimbap is more of vegetarian bibimbap).
Price:8/10(Cheap. This bibimbap only cost 3000 Won).

My bibimbap meal.

The main dish.

The food shop is located on the street behind Heunginjimun. It is located just outside of one of the Dongdaemun (line 1 or 4) subway station.

Location:
By subway Dongdaemun station.

Traditional Korean meal of Haemul Pajeon and Makgeolli @ Hongik University, Seoul

A local Korean who used to work part time in the hostel that I stayed, brought me to this small shop near Hongik University subway exit 8. Here, she introduced two Korean delicacy, haemul pajeon a Korean style seafood pancake and makgeolli an alcoholic traditional drink fermented from rice served in bowl. Haemul pajeon is a pancake-like Korean dish made from a batter of eggs, wheat flour, rice flour, green onions, and often other additional ingredients depending on the variety. Beef, pork, kimchi, shellfish, and other seafood are mostly used. According to review from Seoul website, makgeolli is the best alcoholic drink to try in Korea.

Haemul pajeon. This dish contains a lot of seafood. It is good but it is a bit oily.

Makgeolli. Make sure you don't think this too much or you will be drunk. The taste is nice and sweet but without realising that you are consuming alcohol. Makgeolli is an alcoholic beverage native to Korea. It is made from rice or wheat mixed with nuruk, a Korean fermentation starter.

Drink makgeolli from copper bowl. This is the traditional way of drinking makgeoli.

Delicious spicy pork stew @ Hongik University Subway exit, Seoul

This restaurant is quite near to my hostel that I stay during my visit to Seoul. I went there because it is near my place and I am curious to try what they have in the store as I always saw many customers inside the shop. I not sure what is the dish called but on their menu they do have the picture. The dish is quite spicy and stewed with Korean kimchi and they also put a lot of pepper in the dish. Like many Korean restaurant, small dishes of banchan were provided.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Taste is good and the spiciness is suitable for the cold weather at that time during my visit which is their autumn. The pork is tender and the stewed kimchi compliment with the pork).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Unfortunately, I can't remember how much is the dish but I estimated it to be around 12,000 Won~USD12.00)

Pot of stewed spicy pork in kimchi. As usual, Korean food always comes with many side dishes. Kimchi is always a must!

Wow, look at the pepper on top of this pork stew. The soup is fiery red.

Taste good. Clean bone.
