They have seafood, chicken, pasta and grilled dishes as well. For coffee lover and beer drinker, this place is suitable for you as well. They have around a dozen options for imported craft beer. The menu were updated frequently and creatively designed fusion food.

Taste:8/10(Good. Chili cream mussels were good and the slight spicy sauce makes the dish taste well. Creamy mushroom tapas is a must order as the mushroom taste good and punched with flavour. Their chicken teriyaki with soba noodles is good just slightly salty. I guess due to the soy sauce. As for the nasi lemak, their sambal were not good enough and can be improved. Grill master taste rather normal and the sauce need to be improved).

Handmade soba noodles at Sobaya Shige @ Isetan The Japan Store, Kuala Lumpur

What is so special about this Sobaya Shige food kiosk in Isetan The Japan Store? The answer is their soba is handmade by a Japanese chef who make the noodles on the spot. The noodles texture is firm and you can taste the buckwheat flavour. They have 5 menu sets to choose from either soba or udon noodles. The options are duck, ebi tempura, kakiage, beef and kake set.

Taste:8/10(Good. I ordered their duck hot soba set. Delicious noodles which is firm and with weight. You will know the noodles here is quite dense and authentic. I like the vinegared rice sushi as the texture is soft/chewy and using good quality rice. Soup base just nice unlike others which tend to be salty).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The duck soba set cost MYR33.50. You will get bowl of duck soba noodles with duck meat and meat ball. Rice sushi and jelly fish plus soup).

Hyotan Japanese Restaurant @ Subang Jaya

Hyotan located further away from the group of Japanese restaurants opposite the Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC). The restaurant has the usual dinner set and sashimi as offered by other restaurant. The pricing in this restaurant are quite reasonable. I have chosen their chirashi sushi don dinner during my visit. Environment wise is good as they have many partition which provide privacy to the diners. If you are a fan of Japanese news and show, they have a television which show it.

Taste:7/10(Moderate. The chirashi don rice was not soft enough and too sourish. Perhaps too much vinegar in the rice. The sashimi on the rice has good variety even with some unagi. They have the best chawanmushi with shrimp and mushroom on the top of chawanmushi. Sashimi provided were not the freshest probably due to I went there on monday but quality still alright).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The pricing were slightly lower when compared to other Japanese restaurant within the same row. The chirashi sushi don set that I ordered priced at MYR45.00 exclude GST and service charge).

My dinner set of chirashi don with soba noodles. The chirashi rice bowl comes with fresh salmon, unagi, prawn, tamago and other types of fish.

Soba noodles were good.

Complimentary appetizer. Brinjal with soy sauce.

The dinner set comes with salad, chawanmushi, fruits and pickles.

Chawanmushi taste the best here with much ingredient on the top such as shrimp and mushrooms.

Salad which tasted quite normal.

Complimentary green tea ice cream. The ice cream is just so-so.

Delicious Japanese dinner at Jyu Raku @ Subang Jaya

It has been a while that I didn't treat myself with good Japanese meal. Since its Tuesday night, I might as well head straight to Subang Jaya SS15 for a good Japanese dinner. I did tried Jyu Raku previously and I do like their quality of their food especially their dinner sets which comes with sushi. Their sushi were good as the portion of fish meat always cover the rice. This makes their sushi similar to the experience you had it in Japan.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Great sushi with generous portion of sashimi. Oysters were very fresh and tasty. Appetizer given were delicious. Udon noodles was succulent and tasty).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. Twin oyster at MYR24, udon and sushi set at MYR38 and toro sushi at MYR6.00 each. There are 10% service charge and 6% GST).

Dinner at Kampachi @ Plaza 33, Jaya 33 Petaling Jaya

Kampachi is quite a popular name in Japanese dining in Malaysia. Started as a Japanese restaurant in Equatorial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the Kampachi brand name now have total of 7 outlets in Malaysia. The Kampachi outlet in Jaya 33 is the latest addition boasting a seating capacity of 198 persons which features a stylish bar with several unique seating that can be rotated for privacy. Having numerous awards including five time Time Out Kuala Lumpur food awards for Japanese restaurant category does catch my attention to try. Looking thru the menu, there were many options for you to choose. The ingredient are said to be flown fresh from Tsukiji market in Tokyo. The popular meal selection here is omakase which is chef selection and their sunday lunch buffet.

Taste:8/10(Delicious. The soba and chirashi don set taste were good. The sashimi provided were fresh and the soba noodles were spongy and with wheat taste. However the rice does not perfect enough to earn the excellent level of this review. There is also lack of sesame seed to be mixed with soba noodles).
Price:3/10(Expensive. The menu selection were quite expensive. The toro sushi were priced at MYR55.00 which in my opinion is outrageous. The recommended omakase pricing were quite high as well at MYR250 and premium for MYR350. I choose the soba and chirashi don set instead as this is seen as the most reasonable option. This menu offers the mixture of rice, noodles, tempura and sashimi at a price of MYR54.00. I ordered Blushing Maiko cocktail as drink at MYR18.00 per glass. Their cocktail seems more reasonable when compared to their tea which is around the same price for a pot. Its a bit disappointed that this restaurant does not serve free green tea).

Soba and chirashi don set. The chirashi don comes with soft and delicious sashimi and prawn tempura. I chosen the cold soba option. Fruit of watermelon, honeydew, grape and pineapple.

Chirashi don.

Cold soba noodles.

Prawn tempura. Crispy and good.

Blushing Maiko cocktail. This cocktail is a mixture of sake nigori, white rum, grenadine and yuzu. This is a sour, slight sweet and with slight citrus flavour of yuzu cocktail.
