Lunch at Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen @ Las Vegas, USA

The atmosphere is nice with a competing kitchen working in view of everyone. The staff are very informative and willing to make sure you are happy. The decoration is good but the restaurant is a bit noisy as quite crowded and this is a tourist attraction. You need to make a reservation using OpenTable apps as this place is quite high in demand even for lunch.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. The famous burger were good and spicy. The fries which comes with the burger were seasoned very well and tasty. Eggs in purgatory were good as well).
Price:3/10(Expensive. Eggs in purgatory at USD19.00 and burger at USD23.00).

Eggs in purgatory. spicy tomato sauce, valbreso feta cheese, sourdough toast

Signature pork bun from Momofuku @ Las Vegas, USA

Momofuku in Las Vegas is located in Cosmopolitan Resort. They have many branches across America and I missed my chance to try it out when I were in New York previously. This simple restaurant by David Chang has one item which catches everyone attention. Its their pork bun. I do recommend sitting at the counter in front of the kitchen. You can watch the chefs prepare the food and then pick what you think looks good.

Taste:10/10(Excellent. The pork bun is delicious with tender, juicy and melt in your mouth pork belly. Together with cucumber and hoisin sauce, makes a good combination and goes well with the soft flour bun and SSAM sauce. Their grilled lamb ribs is good as well but still can't beat the deliciousness of the pork bun. Similar tender lamb ribs which blends well with yogurt).
Price:4/10(Near expensive. Pork bun at USD7.00 per piece and made to order. Grilled lamb ribs at USD21).

Tasty and delicious pork belly bun. Attached with Momofuku signature flag.

The cucumber with lamb ribs makes the taste more refine and refreshing. And you will feel not overloaded with meat.

Delicious nasi lemak burger from myBurgerLab @ Sunway - SamsungPay redemption

myBurgerLab was inspired by the success of a few famous burger joint overseas such as ShakeShack (US), In-N-Out (US), Grill’d (Australia) and GBK (UK). They have done it well and invented many kinds of creative burger flavours that is delicious and with quality ingredients. When the food is good, people don't mind to pay slightly premium for it. The nasi lemak burger that I tried has all the necessary ingredients that a good burger should have. I know the burger is oily, messy and huge, but that is what a good burger should have.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. The nasi lemak burger does taste great. The fried chicken were crispy and juicy. Together with crushed anchovies and peanut butter a good combination. The burger not overly spicy and sambal chicken rendang were fragrant from the first bite).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The nasi lemak burger priced at MYR18.80. Its not cheap for a burger but the ingredients and quality is awesome. I use my SamsungPay 550 points to redeem the burger so free dinner for me).

Nasi lemak burger with signature black bun. Rendang Sauce combined with pickles, topped with peanut butter, sambal, sunny side egg, chopped anchovies and a huge chunk of crispy crunchy Thai style fried chicken.

Pho Vietz @ Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang Jaya

Pho Vietz is quite popular among the food lovers since they open their outlet Empire Shopping Gallery in September 2016. Its listed as one of the restaurants which needs long queue by Open Rice in order to have a meal there. I experienced it myself, wait for almost 20 minutes to get a table. The popularity could be due to very few proper Vietnamese restaurant serving pork. Pho Vietz offers variety of Vietnamese food such as Ban Minh(baguette), spring roll, beef and pork pho, rice with curry and claypot dishes. I was there to try out their beef pho and spring roll.

Taste:6/10(Moderate. If you have visited Vietnam before, you need to lower your expectation as their pho and spring roll taste does not perform anyway near. The pho soup is rather blend and quite normal. The beef quantity provided is quite decent but some of the beef pieces is too chewy. The spring roll skin is too sticky and hard to my liking. They missed one important item on Vietnamese food which is using good chili sauce. They use normal chili sauce which does not have kick).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. Ordered two beef combo noodles soup with Australian beef slices and beef balls at MYR19.90 and tiger prawn rolls at MYR9.90).

Two beef combo noodles soup.

I ordered the recommended item from their menu. However the taste does not up to my expectation.

The noodles has all the items that good pho should have. This kind of proper restaurant should have at least provide Rooster chili sauce (Sriracha chili sauce).

The skins and the sauce of the spring roll needs improvement. The skin is tough and the sauce not enough peanut.

First FamilyMart store in Malaysia - Wisma Lim Foo Yong, Kuala Lumpur

Finally FamilyMart opened its first store in Malaysia. Located in Wisma Lim Foo Yong at Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur. From my observation, FamilyMart does offers something more on top of existing convenience store chains that we have in Malaysia. With new player in place, it does provide more choices for the consumers and raise the standard of our convenience stores. In overseas, FamilyMart does provide many facilities to their customers such as toilet, free wifi, eating place, oden, bill payment, photocopy service, electronic payment options and even send parcel. The first FamilyMart in Malaysia does have those facilities but still need improvement. Since FamilyMart is new here, do expect to queue to get your stuff. Lets take a look on how does our first FamilyMart perform.

Mukbang - Paying to watch pretty girls and handsome guys eating @ Seoul

There is now a latest online trend happening in South Korea. How do you fancy eating your dinner in front of a webcam and let thousands of people watching? If they like they way you eat, the audience may pay you money by receiving stars which you can then convert it to cash. The popular channel who broadcast eating may get a few hundred dollars a night and its a craze now in South Korea. The food phenomenon is called mukbang meaning Korean word for eating (muk) and broadcasting (bang). If you are in South Korea, you may watch mukbang from Afreeca TV which is a social networking site that host many of mukbang channels. The channel allows users to buy and send virtual star balloons which can be monetized after Afreeca TV takes a 30-40% commission. The payment by viewers is voluntary and the channels can be viewed for free. Some broadcaster even invest in good camera and microphone so that the viewer can see clearly and hear the sound of full crunch and slurp while eating.

The reason why mukbang gaining such a huge popularity in South Korea is the rise of one person households in Korea. The loneliness and excessive dieting to look slim also encourage people to view such video/broadcast for self satisfaction. Huge percentage of Koreans are on smartphones with easy access to TV streaming capabilities and many are on Seoul subway network during dinner time also contribute for such popularity of mukbang.
