Hong Kong Food Culture @ Lowyat Plaza, Kuala Lumpur

Hong Kong Food Culture located at lower ground floor of Lowyat Plaza serve reasonable priced Hong Kong style food in the city centre. Its tough to find authentic Hong Kong style food in Kuala Lumpur. This restaurant could be closest to what you can get in Hong Kong. The restaurant is quite old. If I not mistaken that they have been operating there for more than 10 years. So don't expect fancy kind of environment in the restaurant. The interior really looks like those char chan teng in those Hong Kong drama.

Taste:8/10(Good. I ordered their dinner set of hor yip fan - lotus leaf glutinous rice with pork and other good condiments. I didn't expect much but the meal turn out to be good. The glutinous rice contains a lot of ingredients such as chinese sausage, dried prawn, scallop, salted egg, lard and mushroom. The dinner set come with a plate of simple but good boiled spinach with fermented bean curd and a cup of herbal tea. Ordered their beef meat noodles which is good as well. Their roasted duck breast rice has a dense meat which is suitable for big eater and meat is tender. Good portion).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Price are quite reasonable especially in Bukit Bintang area with their dinner set cost MYR16.80, rice with roasted duck breast at MYR10.50, sliced beef noodles in soup at MYR10.50 and milk curd with ginger at MYR7.70).

Nasi kerabu from Teh Tarik Place @ CITTA Mall, Ara Damansara

Teh Tarik Place is now an upstream eating spot of Malaysian local street food cuisine. This chain restaurant now present in many major shopping malls such as Setia City mall, Publika, Citta mall, 1-Utama, Empire shopping gallery and much more. The shop has many local favourites like teh tarik, roti canai, nasi lemak, nasi kerabu and mamak style fried noodles. The restaurant is covered with nostalgic old style artwork and it's a truly Malaysian culture.

Taste: 7/10(Moderate. The rice and salad were good. However, the ayam percik provided were not up to expectation. I enjoy their teh tarik. Its sweetness with nice tea taste were balanced and delicious).
Price: 6/10(Moderate. Nasi kerabu set at MYR12.00).

Good Arabic cuisine at Dima Restaurant @ Ara Damansara

Dima Restaurant previously located in Oasis Ara Damansara has now moved to a new location in Taipan 2 of Ara Damansara. What surprise me is they have Arabic rice dinner set at a reasonable price.

Taste:8/10(Good. Tender lamb and rice taste good. However the sauce which comes with this set was too spicy for me. It taste like salsa sauce but its too spicy. Overall I do recommend to have dinner here).
Price:7/10(Moderate. The lunch/dinner set of mutton rice at MYR13.99 exclude GST. It comes with huge mandi rice, lamb, Arabic gravy, spicy sauce and hot pull tea. Portion wise were big and can easily satisfy any big eater).

Disappointing nasi kerabu lunch set from Kelantan Delights @ CITTA Mall, Ara Damansara

Kelantan Delights is a famous chain restaurant serving traditional cuisine from Kelantan such as nasi dagang, nasi kerabu, nasi tumpang and varieties of Kelantanese sweet desserts. It's my first time trying the meal here and my review as below.

Taste:5/10(So-so. The nasi kerabu here was not up to my expectation. The rice were a bit wet as it's not yet properly cooked yet. Chicken not tasty as well. Also the nasi kerabu don't have salted fish which I usually have from a cheaper version of nasi kerabu. Their dessert of lompat tikam and sago gula melaka failed my taste bud. The sago texture is not firm and its soak in watery coconut milk gula melaka. So basically the sago dessert is rather tasteless. Lompat tikam pandan pudding is slight watery as well and don't have much coconut taste).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The meal here does not really worth the price that they charged. Set lunch at MYR26.90 exclude GST comes with set meal, lemon tea and dessert. Salted egg portion is only quarter!).

Nasi kerabu set. In English its a salad rice set with grilled marinated chicken.

Environment in the restaurant. Its still early for lunch.

They advertise nasi kerabu here. This should be their signature dish.

Hot lemon tea.

The meal comes with fish crackers, chicken and pickled vegetables.

Salted egg only quarter portion.

Sagu gula melaka. Soft and watery texture.

Lompat tikam - A traditional Kelantanese dessert, pandan infused pudding with steamed red glutinous rice, with a rich coconut cream and palm sugar syrup. Glutinous rice not properly cooked and the pandan pudding was watery.
