Good Arabic cuisine at Dima Restaurant @ Ara Damansara

Dima Restaurant previously located in Oasis Ara Damansara has now moved to a new location in Taipan 2 of Ara Damansara. What surprise me is they have Arabic rice dinner set at a reasonable price.

Taste:8/10(Good. Tender lamb and rice taste good. However the sauce which comes with this set was too spicy for me. It taste like salsa sauce but its too spicy. Overall I do recommend to have dinner here).
Price:7/10(Moderate. The lunch/dinner set of mutton rice at MYR13.99 exclude GST. It comes with huge mandi rice, lamb, Arabic gravy, spicy sauce and hot pull tea. Portion wise were big and can easily satisfy any big eater).

Huge ribs at Hurricane's Grill @ Sydney, Australia

Hurricane's Grill located in Darling Harbour is a famous restaurant in Harbourside shopping centre. The restaurant only opens at 12.00pm and by that time, you can see many people already queuing outside the restaurant. I visited there during lunch time and by 1.00pm, the restaurant were full. You can book online and they will hold the seat for you for 90 minutes. Do request for a seat nearby window for a stunning view of Sydney harbour. This is one of Australian favourites which one must try during visit to Sydney.

Taste:8/10(Good. The pork ribs is good but however the meat is not tender enough. The ribs didn't have the rich flavour and juiciness that I was expecting. The baked sweet potatoes were good as its sweet. The garlic prawn is good as well but it's pricey for small amount of prawn).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. Full rack of pork ribs at AUD49.50 and garlic prawn at AUD19.00).

Garlic prawn appetizer. Cooked with garlic butter, olive oil and fresh garlic. Lots of garlic.

Wow, this is huge. Full rack of pork ribs.

There are fries underneath the pork ribs.

Cheap eats - Tasty grilled Pacific Ocean Perch from Ootoya @ Ginza, Tokyo

Ootoya is a famous chain restaurant in Japan focusing on Teishoku set meal. Their objective is to provide "hearty home made dishes" like what Japanese have at their home daily. It different compared to the normal well known Japanese food such as sushi, kaiseki, shabu-shabu and ramen. Ootoya set meal usually includes a main dish, rice, miso soup and a small side dish. The style is like daily dinner meal at home. The menu offered are extensive from grilled fish, fried fish, steaks, Japanese cutlet, tuna, vegetables soup, bowl rice and sour pork. The menu varies and can be Western, Japanese or fusion. What makes Ootoya popular is their reasonable price range of around 1000 Yen. The staff here are so friendly and polite.

I ordered the chargrilled Pacific Ocean Perch pickled in salted rice malt and mirin. This is a set meal which comes together with rice. But since I am not that hungry, I just ordered the set without rice.

Taste:8/10(Delicious. Ootoya is a cheap, simple and quick place where you can have good lunch and dinner. Since most dinner place have higher price tag, Ootoya can gets very crowded at night).
Price:8/10(Cheap. For price if 812 Yen, I get a decent dinner set shown below. Cheese cake ice cream at 315 Yen).

Chargrilled Pacific Ocean Perch pickled in salted rice malt and mirin. Delicious fish. Well grilled. Comes with fresh radish and seaweed with natto.

Good yakitori meal at Torigin Main Shop @ Ginza, Tokyo

Torigin Ginza has been operating for almost 70 years. This is a simple restaurant located in a narrow alley of high end Ginza area where you can enjoy great Japanese barbecue. The food is good, reasonable price and fast and efficient service. If you prefer izakaya kind of restaurant, this restaurant suits you well. You can drink and have good food in authentic Japanese environment. Ordering shouldn't be a problem since they have menu in English.

Taste:8/10(Good. Their yakitori is the best and I like the tender and flavourful taste of their grilled chicken. The second best is the bacon wrapped asparagus. The way Japanese barbecue their meat is good without any black burning parts. Their Gomoku-Kamameshi kettle pot rice is just average and I would think Malaysian claypot rice taste better. It could be I have not chosen their best kamameshi. I just get to know that their signature kettle pot rice is chicken).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Each stick of barbecue stick priced between 170 Yen to 280 Yen. The kettle pot rice at 990 Yen as we choose the one which contains the most ingredient - Gomoku kamameshi. The meal shown below was about 2,200 Yen per person).

As usual, Japanese restaurant are good at creating actual size food models to attract their customers.

There is a lucky draw for patron who order their sake. One draw per glass of sake ordered. I got some kind of handphone necklace.

Halal Japanese BBQ at Gyumon @ Shibuya, Tokyo

Its difficult to find authentic halal food in Tokyo. There is only a few restaurant in Tokyo are certified as halal and Gyumon is one of them. Since I travelled with a muslim colleague, we try to have fun locating this restaurant which is around 10 minutes walk from Shibuya train station. It was a good experience for her to try the halal yakiniku in Japan and Gyumon pricing is within reasonable price range. What interesting is the halal certification is from Malaysia. I recommend those who like to have dinner at this restaurant, do make reservation by contacting them. The staff able to speak in English. The night we were there, the restaurant were full and have to wait for almost 1 hour in a cold night. Fortunately, the restaurant is nearby a huge 7-Eleven which have many facilities including rest room and eating place to hang out by trying some dessert.

Taste:8/10(Good. The BBQ set comes with 3 types of meat. The best were the beef rib loin. The meat were tender and good. The only complaint were the present of tough tendon in the meat which makes some of it quite chewy. I also prefer the beef to be cooked by the staff as they know which level the meat should be grilled).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. We took the BBQ set price at 4,320 Yen per person plus 8% tax. The meal set comes with beef shoulder, beef round meat, beef rib loin, choice of drinks, salad and rice).

Waiting patiently until the meat turns medium rare.
