Japanese dinner set at Uroko Saujana @ Bandar Saujana, Shah Alam

Uroko located at Nova Saujana is a new Japanese restaurant in the area. Its quite crowded although it just open for around 2 weeks. They have quite a variety of dinner and lunch sets. Their lunch set are quite reasonable at less than MYR20.00. I took their sashimi and unagi rice set as it seems to be the best deals from the available dinner sets. They also have quite a number of ala carte menu and omasake.

Taste:7/10(Moderate. Food served were normal. Presentation wise on the sashimi were good and I like their sashimi cut. Although the sashimi cut is small but its thick).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The sashimi and unagi set were priced quite reasonably at MYR58.00. Shitake mushroom grill at MYR3.00, asparagus wrapped with beef bacon at MYR7.00, chicken leek grill at MYR4.00 and refillable green tea at MYR1.00).

Japanese food in Village Grocer @ Citta Mall, Ara Damansara

Village Grocer located in Citta Mall in Ara Damansara is among the best Village Grocer outlet with bakery, Japanese food section and wine shop attached. Quite like this place as they sell quality and fresh food at reasonable price. You can get fresh Japanese food which is prepared daily here. The choice are plenty such as rice bowl, unagi, scallop, sushi, sashimi, vegetarian based sushi and vinegared pressed sushi.

Taste:7/10(Moderate. The sushi and rice bowl were fresh. The thickness of sashimi on sushi still can't beat those prepared in the restaurant. I do like their pressed sushi which taste good and with grilled soba fish).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Each pack of sushi set price between MYR6.00 to MYR28.00. They also have value for money promotion set which range from MYR13.00 to MYR17.00).

Ichiriki Tonkatsu Japanese Restaurant @ The Gardens Midvalley, Kuala Lumpur

Ichiriki is a Japanese restaurant specialize in tonkatsu or pork cutlet. They have a few options of affordable tonkatsu set to choose from. I have chosen their unadon kabayaki and tonkatsu gozen set. The pork is the star here, so as long as you focus on cooked food and not the raw stuff, then this is your right restaurant.

Taste:8/10(Good. I like the tonkatsu served with cabbage and noodles. Meat is tender and not dry. The plum sesame sauce suit very well with tonkatsu. The unagi need improvement as it appear a bit overcooked. The chawanmushi is good).
Price:6/10(Moderate. Unadon kabayaki and tonkatsu gozen set at MYR45.00. The set consist on many items: tonkatsu, unagi, fruit, chawanmushi, pickles, cabbage, miso soup, rice, noodles and plum sesame sauce)

Quite huge and affordable lunch meal.

Wedding dinner at Mitasu Japanese Restaurant @ Kuala Lumpur

This is my first time I had a meal in Japanese restaurant for wedding dinner and whats great about the dinner is the amount food that you can ordered. Yes, it's a buffet and ala-carte style of menu provided on each table. More than 80+ items to choose from. We can choose what we would like to eat and the amount that we want to order. Must make sure that we can finish it before we order. Cannot be too greedy also. Else the host are punishable from food wastage. Drinkwise were great too with availability of many Japanese wines such as Umeshu, Sake and Yuzu wine. Overall great experience and something different from common Chinese restaurant dinner. Couples nowadays will try to have alternative type of dining for their wedding to create a more memorable experience. We all feel satisfied with the quality and quantity of the Japanese food served in this restaurant. Taste wise is great. Thank you Qing Ying and wish both of you good healthy and happily ever after.

Hyotan Japanese Restaurant @ Subang Jaya

Hyotan located further away from the group of Japanese restaurants opposite the Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC). The restaurant has the usual dinner set and sashimi as offered by other restaurant. The pricing in this restaurant are quite reasonable. I have chosen their chirashi sushi don dinner during my visit. Environment wise is good as they have many partition which provide privacy to the diners. If you are a fan of Japanese news and show, they have a television which show it.

Taste:7/10(Moderate. The chirashi don rice was not soft enough and too sourish. Perhaps too much vinegar in the rice. The sashimi on the rice has good variety even with some unagi. They have the best chawanmushi with shrimp and mushroom on the top of chawanmushi. Sashimi provided were not the freshest probably due to I went there on monday but quality still alright).
Price:5/10(Near expensive. The pricing were slightly lower when compared to other Japanese restaurant within the same row. The chirashi sushi don set that I ordered priced at MYR45.00 exclude GST and service charge).

My dinner set of chirashi don with soba noodles. The chirashi rice bowl comes with fresh salmon, unagi, prawn, tamago and other types of fish.

Soba noodles were good.

Complimentary appetizer. Brinjal with soy sauce.

The dinner set comes with salad, chawanmushi, fruits and pickles.

Chawanmushi taste the best here with much ingredient on the top such as shrimp and mushrooms.

Salad which tasted quite normal.

Complimentary green tea ice cream. The ice cream is just so-so.

Environment inside Hyotan Japanese restaurant.

Electronic service system.

If you like to have sake or Japanese liquors, they also have it.
